I have a Sony Xperia P and a friend has a Samsung S111, both running the stock messaging systems.
However, invariably if I send a picture my friend receives it but can't view it. Basic messaging between us works fine.
So has anybody else experienced this? Can anyone suggest a solution?
Thanks in anticipation.
David.

This may be a stupid question but do you have the right MMS settings? I would suggest using Viber or Whatsapp to send the pictures for free :-)

Your friend may have the automatic download of MMS switched off, I send pics to my friends S3 without complaint (both phones Sony).
If your friend is recieving MMS from other sources ok, then it could be a network thing, if he is getting your message and it refers to a web page, then he does not have the MMS settings on his phone.

Can someone tell me where these MMS settings are?

I've gone into Messages and clicked the Menu button but there's nothing there about MMS.

Contact your network provider and they will usually send a text message to your phone which will automatically update the settings.

But as already mentioned, have a look at using WhatsApp - Free way to send MMS.

Thanks for your help. WhatsApp and similar are fine as long as you're not using up around your data limit on data specific things.

Before you misunderstand what is posted, your MMS settings are fine, the messages would not send if they were not, your friend with the S3, is the one needing to check their phone MMS settings.
What's App is fine for data, a picture is a few hundred kb, so hardly a dent on data allowance and certainly much less cost than that of an MMS.

MMS uses your data too doesn't it?

Thanks DUTR, but again, where will my friend find their MMS settings, cos I can't find any on my phone!
Heard and read a bit about WhatsApp and Kik, so maybe time for me to download and install them!

Not from the account holder's data allowance.

I don't have a samsung to hand, so not sure of the menu structure, it could be in network settings or the messaging menu screen.

Your friend can check the configuration from this link
