    Hi All,

Full time lurker here, I had subscribed ages ago but the last couple of months I have reread this thread (and the original thread from the start) and need to thank every single one of you for helping me tackle my debt!

I had £3000 on a 0%cc which I was slowly paying off in installments until it needed paying off - Oct 17, however this was causing me stress and worry about being in debt. Along with this I had been building up an emergancy fund over the last 6 months (£700).

I had a big rethink about my money and decided that getting my CC money into an account (to get the interest) and with the knowledge to pay off in full if needed was my priority. So with tightening my budget, paying my EF into the account and getting a lodger I have been chipping away!

I had a mini scare last month where I thought my lodger was going to be leaving next month so all money has focused on my CC and I now only have £183.16 to go (Which should all be paid off next month).

I can then focus on building my EF back, Saving for NYC next Christmas and generally getting back on track with money!!!! I feel so much better clearning this debt then trying to juggle savings and debt! (Martin is a very clever man).

Now I just need to kick myself into gear and actually start selling things so I can save!!!!!

  • Hello,

Can I please join in with this challenge? I'm going to tackle one of my four credit cards, this one has the lowest balance at £3764.05 so 1% = £38. I'm off work on maternity leave until next year so I'll have plenty of time to come up with ways to make 1% I hope!

Hello all, #227 here, been Mia since 2013 hoping you will have me back?

I originally had £13,450 which I then got down to 12000 and is now back up to 13000 with a reminder from DH that we need to pay £500 fee at the end of July so I guess I'm technically £50 worse off then I was in 2013

But I'm down not out, and I'm hoping to put us in the black (or as close as possible) in 2 years.
I'm down to 4 companies I owe to:
    Lloyds loan £11000
    Lloyds credit card £616
    Vanquis £250
    My jar £300
    Very £850

That makes my 1% an eye watering £130

I want to start with my fee due end of July £500 so my 1% is £5.
I am following the pad thread as well to help me keep motivated. Hopefully it's ok to be on both threads? The more I'm here I think the more focussed I will stay

I've managed to skim my bank accounts and transfer £5.64 to my online savers account so that makes me 1%
    Staring debt - June 2013 - £21,000
    Current debt - February 2018 - £11,378.60

    Emergency fund £500 / 100%

Debt free one day at a time

    Hi all,

I used to post regularly until I confused myself by balance transferring but I am now working on my only interest bearing debt which is more manageable. There is £7094 left to pay which makes my 1% £71. It isn't my only remaining debt but I'm dealing with it in bitesize chunks so bear with me, I'll be here a while!

    Hello

    Can I join this challenge?

I've decided to pay off 1 card at a time.

    The rounded up balance is £3500 so 1% = £35 x

    Another joiner please...!

I'm going for one card at a time too. The balance on my CC is close to £4000, so 1% is £40.

    Thanks
