Friday 1st March - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:money:

Morning everyone. Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus - Happy St David's Day to all our Welsh Posters and readers.

1st of the month so direct debit day for many of us. Checked online banking this morning and all is as expected. In fact, because there's no Council Tax payment this month, I'm actually better off than I am most months.

Lunch (tuna salad) is already made to take to work, and I've taken the bread out of the freezer to defrost ready to make sandwiches for my journey tomorrow - I'm going home to Sunderland for the match.

I need to do a big shop tonight, but rather than drive to the station this morning then shop on the way back, I'll walk and pick the car up when I get home. I need to keep going with the weight loss and don't want to get into the bad habits of driving to the station each morning like I used to.

Nice pile of ironing awaits when I get home this evening, then just a general tidy up and cleaning. Normally I do most of this over the weekend, but got a busy weekend ahead so I want to get as much done tonight as I can.

Have a great Friday everyone.
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done

It's a day off today but I need to get a haircut, go grocery shopping and wash my car.
Can't do much about the first.
For groceries intend buying certain items at Sainsburys and then heading to Tesco for some others (including using a money off voucher).
Will be taking my car to a local washing place for £5 instead of a full inside and out for a lot more.

    Morning all,

Been missing for last few days as work been manic. So so much to do today as beginning of the month so going to have a busy day. Though have decided to take a break a little later on and catch up with friend. Also have a date tonight and decided to take a step out of Karbs book and cook a meal tonight, so fajitas it is.

Today I will (taking deep breath):

    - Work out my march challenges
    - work out my weekly budgets for March
    - Sort money to pay into bank to pay bills and pay in.
    - Check banking before I go
    - Clear Emails - doing surveys etc as I go along
    - Do my swagbucks - only need 60 to get £10 voucher and will use towards the two birthdays I have this month
    - Stuff some more envelopes for work
    - Do my voluntary work paperwork
    - Iron my pile of washed clothes
    - put a load of washing on and sort washing onto whites / darks in wash bins so that I can just grab a load each day.
    - Tidy upstairs and downstairs - need to find something to clear carpet better where cat been unwell.
    - Clear out fridge ready for new month
    - Do invoice for my new extra work - only £10 to bill on this one but its £10 I didn't have
    - Print off dog exercises as decided to do some trials with him.
    - Work out what to do with the £100 that my grandparents surprised me last night, by saying that they will be giving me in next week to help sort me out a bit.

Then get ready for tonight. :)

    Morning all,

    Thank god its Friday :)

I spoke to a couple more of my creditors yesterday afternoon and things are going along nicely. Some have acknowledged and accepted Stepchange's letters.

Had my hair all chopped off again yesterday (about 6 inches gone) and I love it :) best bit was I had a trainee do it so it only cost about £15! :)

    Things for today:
    - BL from stores done
    - Playing in racketball tournament tonight so dinner out. Main meal only costs about £7 so going to only take £20 cash with me and have a few drinks to.
    - In the office today so tea/coffee on them. done
    - Continue hunt for new job and apply if anything. done - nothing today :(
    - Work on notes about why I should get a pay rise! Haven't had one in 18 months, so many as well ask and argue my case. If you don't ask, you don't get! done - well handwritten!
    - Got a left from OH today so no petrol costs for me :)
    - Do some knitting for commission piece at lunchtime instead of going out. done - a little

    Happy Friday everyone :)

    Hey,

At the moment I have side-lined my current project http://www.knitrowan.com/designs-and-patterns/patterns/belle-1 (I'm knitting it in the green/purple variegated colours.

As I am trying to set-up a knitting service and sell my wares :)

But I am currently working on some knitted leggings and a jumper for a London fashion student for one of her fashion shows for her course - quite exciting.

Here is my knitting up service page on my blog if you are interested :)http://team-rigby.blogspot.co.uk/p/knitting-services.html
  • Hi everyone  & happy Friday :j to you all :D I have a lot to do this weekend but am trying very hard to make sure I have enough fun things in there. Going to have dinner with my bff tonight, first time I have seen her since she came out of hospital since having her beautiful baby boy :)

    :)

is that a date with the guy fromm work from last week Sazdaz? mmmm interesting

winsones how cool to have had such a radical haircut at a barginous price and be totally entralled! I appauld your positivity :T

sorry to hear you are feeling a bit flat today calling14 x

    My things for the day:

    * checked banking
    * 123 account has been set up so transferred all stoozing funds into this account. Need to start calling dd's and give them new account details
    * did VSP & will update sig later
    * embarking on, and sticking with, a diet. Hated being called a "curvy size 12" by my (not so darling) brother yesterday....
    * do some research for report I need to prepare for interview next week
    * hopefully meeting with someone later who works in the field of an area I need knowledge in for one of the interviews. Getting some training for the price of a drink :money:
    * check onepoll
    * B/L from stores
    * must return library books while going to cash up later
    * update spending diary for last 2 days
    * had a quick shower and tied up hair rather than washing today - looks good enough although it won't last another day....

Can someone help me with a spreadsheet/suggest how I can record details of an account I have? I have a stoozing account that money goes in and out of throughout the month and each month I get in a tizz over it. So it has the stoozing funds (spent on a cc day to day expenses and put into savings for the 0% interest period), I also put in cc funds each month until cc pay day, then it has our house renovation fund in there which I fund each month but oh does each week and this we take money out of at various points through the month and finally money for oh's DM that she loaned us when we bought our house.

I keep trying to work it out but it's not my forte!

Ok I better get one. Hope you all have light and happiness in your lives today and laughter xxx

I had 14 inches cut off mine in November. It was done at the local college for £14 and the pony-tail was sent to a charity which makes wigs for children with cancer. :D
