My £70 at TCB is "pending", not "confirmed" yet. Can sometimes take a month or two to move to that stage.

Don't you think it is best not to boast about getting paid on more than one account just incase someone from Nationwide is looking on here.

Hi, I have not had an account with nationwide for about 5 years. i applied for the FlexDirect on the 27/6/13 but have not had any information on account details or online banking. how long do they take to get this information out to you and set everything up?

I don't know if this has already been said but I've just been told on the phone you can't set up a weekly standing order on this account, only monthly, quarterly and annually.

Any ideas how to get around this? 4 monthly debits on different dates won't work out as the days of the week move around. Having to log-in every week to make a payment is inconvenient and time-consuming as well.

Set up 4 monthly SOs, each staggered by a week. Doesn't give you exactly weekly payments but is as close as you can get with this account if you really need to make weekly payments.

    1. Yes I do need to make a weekly payment.

    2. As you've pointed out already days and dates don't match up.

I don't think they should market this as a bank account if it doesn't have all the standard features supplied by all the other banks.

Nationwide have most likely not seen a demand for weekly SOs - which, let's face it, aren't needed by a lot of people. Like any other commercial enterprise, they can market what they deem appropriate. And like any other consumer, you have a wide choice which bank(s)/BS(s) you want to have accounts with.

It's just life that we often like some features of a product but not others. It then comes down to whether the features we like are so compelling that we compromise on the ones we don't like so much.

There's always other options for you, such as you do a monthly SO from the FlexDirect to a current account of yours that does allow weekly SOs. You will probably make a few pennies less interest a year in the FlexDirect that way but you can get your weekly SOs done, too.
