AVG free 2013 and broadband speed

Info re AVG slowing internet connection
I recently had a problem with slow internet. Virgin couldn't find fault but thought it might be the modem. they sent replacement. this partially fixed issue but one PC was still slow. I had recently updated AVG anti virus on it. Testing it I was getting anything from as low as 5MB to 20MB as soon as I disabled it, it shot back up to what it should be, 30MB.Test repeated several times per day over several days with same results. Although AVG website says problem was fixed with update on 25th. Feb but it hasn't fixed issue
