14 of us are flying to faro in september.
to keep costs down ive found flights from east mids with jet2 goin out and ryan air to leeds brad on the way back. cost £192 (we can get a touch cheaper return from east mids but the flight times are rubbish)
my question is what will be the best way to book? im collecting £200 of each person to cover any debit card fee's etc.
u cant book more than 8 people on skyscanner. thinking of going to a travel agent but will they price match to get the figure on their turnover?

Travel agents won't book either airline without charging you a fee, since they don't get any commission they have to charge you more. The cost of £192 will only be for the first few passengers, as you buy seats the computer yield system identifies demand and the price rises. You probably need to have two computers working simultaneously in the same room to book all the seats at once as there may be a danger that there actually won't be 14 seats on one of the flights. One other thing to consider, assuming you all live mid way between the two airports, how are you all going to get there? If you take your cars, they will be at the wrong airport when you get back. You need to factor in the cost of a large mini bus for the transfers before going any further!
Skyscanner won't book the tickets for you, you need to book on the websites of the airlines, which means you need both websites open at the time of booking. make sure you understand how much extra both airlines charge for things like luggage, you may not have much but make sure you understand the fees before committing everyone0 -
thanks for the reply, thats good advice. i can do the 2 computers from my house, and book online our selfs in blocks of 7.
we all live in the same city so priced up the 14 seater. still having nitemares about our last stag do trip home from stanstead, 5 up in a focus for 3 hrs after a week on the booze!0 -
Jet2 recommend phoning themselves for group bookings. With Ryanair I'd book 2 lots of 7, but beware, after the first lot the price may go up, so I'd have than both on the booking screen at the same time.0

Good luck. I had to book for 18 persons once but the company I used had a dedicated group booking site...helped sooo much.:D0

Jet2 will have their own groups department -there may be a price break so definitely check with them first.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

DH has just done this. I'd advise booking all together so you get them for the same price. Once airlines spot a flight is popular the price rockets!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

Ryanair will let you book 14 all in one booking so no need to split the booking with them.
Jet2 have a group booking department, contact them for a quote. Once you get the quote you can decide whether you go with that or chance breaking it into smaller groups. Jet2 have some decent benefits for group bookings of 10 or more including £30 deposit (balance due 10 weeks before travel) and free name changes upto 2 weeks before travel (very useful on trips like this!). Worth exploring.0 -
You will also need the full name of each member of the party as it appears on their passport. Check with everyone first as some people use shortened versions of their Christian names or sometimes are commonly called by their middle name.0

That is REALLY important. It's surprising how many people don't use what you assume is their legal name ....some Tonys are Tony on their passport not Anthony for example........ or like my ex husband everyone assumed Chris was short for Christopher not Christian (till they saw the wedding invites -busted
). Even surnames aren't always the same on passports for all kinds of reasons.
