  • but i was concerned, so i phoned them again, and the second woman i spoke to did do something about it, she emailed the payment team to give me a call, and then i spoke to a women who said "how would you feel if you received your benefit on the 5th march". I replied saying i wouldn't be very happy as it's due on the 4th March, therefor i want it by then please. She then went on to say that shes in hospital monday, so she'll do it tommorrow, i then said well if you do it tommorrow, its not gonna be in there by monday 4th is it, and i think she tried to cover up the fact that shes going to transfer it tommorrow (via instant transfer), but said it will be available on monday.
Why it was all arranged and on the system for the payment to be made today, i don't know!! was a good job i phoned them though, otherwise i wouldn't have a payment at all!

Thats good. So she would have likely stopped that payment that was due to go tonight, as chances are you wouldn't have got it til Tuesday... if she does what she said she's going to do then the payment will be on the card tomorrow for you after all :)

Hopefully when your next payment is due it'll all be ready set up an run automatically.
  • I was wondering if anyone knows why simple payment cards were introduced? Post office accounts have been around for years and it's always been my understanding that anyone needing an account to receive benefit payments (even if they can't get a bank account) could open one. Since simple payment cards have been introduced, I've been told that some folk can't get a post office account. Any ideas why this might be?

They are to replace giros. A lot of people are elderly and housebound with carers, a lot.of carers are not allowed to have their clients bank cards so this was the alternative and allow carers to still collect. I have heard if someone has a regular carer they may have a second card on a poca but that poses a problem if they are on holiday or leave for pin numbers
