BoE Theory is that if they keep printing like lunatics the money will be invested in the British Economy.
The flaw in their theory is that we don't have to invest it in Britain - we are investing it abroad.
What they need to do is make Britain a better place to invest.

etirement is really only a post WWII phenomenon as the NHS improved lifespans

And there was me thinking that it was antibiotics that improved lifespans. Which would at least explain why lifespans increased in other countries too.

    Harsh and unfounded.

Based on your comments/conclusions from what you gleaned.

I do think you could read better elsewhere, but your money your choice.

LOVE how you first want me to think the same way as you and now want me to read 'better' articles. :rotfl::rotfl:

I try to read a wide range of sources to become better informed about financial matters including this forum where the people have proved to be supportive and helpful so far. They all know by now that I am a savings numpty who appreciates any and all advice given to me.

I was offering an opening for general discussion and not any opinion on the contents, even said that I am a novice about savings and investments. Yes, I was/am astounded by what was said, doesn't mean I concur or object. I remain astounded even if others who are more financially savvy are not.

    Moving along swiftly...

Theres no way I'm working till I'm 75! Whats the point in living if all you are going to do is work for 50+ years. Unless you are in a job that you love and have no desire to retire and relax in old age....

I'm aiming for 60 at the latest ;)
    Total Mortgage OP £61,000
    Outstanding Mortgage £27,971
    Emergency Fund £62,100
I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>

No problem in aiming, but do look to see you are saving enough.

And yes, many in past years worked for 50 years. Some now are working longer.
