Relocking a phone?

My friend has just bought a Samsung E250 PAYG but locked to Vodafone, I have seen a device on ebay called a clip which claims to unlock it but I am worried about the warranty being void, does anyone know if the phone can be locked again? Also I am planning on buying an SE 750i PAYG on O2 and want to unlock that with a cable off ebay, so same question, can it be locked again? Cheers.

generally unlocking does not invalidate the warranty, but it depends on the company used/who receives/checks it etc.
yes they can be relocked but not with clips/cables, you need to take it to someone who has a service box etc.
