Sky Broadband with BT Phone line

Hi
I've recently had an email from sky (I get TV from them) Alerting me that I can get broadband from them free for 6 months I switch to them from my current provider (BT) but it states I must also take out a sky phone line (£14.50 a month). If there any way to take up this offer without the phone line as I currently have my phone line with BT on their annual saver (£129 a year, opposed to Sky equivilant of £174 a year)
The phone line itself is used ONLY to deliver broadband, and the neccassaryy 2 calls per month are made to avoid the £2 surcharge for BTs annual saver, so call charges and call bundles are not needed.
I want to switch it all to sky as their bundled package is considerably cheaper than what I pay now (Sky - £26.50 p/m, BT Broadband - £26.50 p/m and Line Rental at £129 p/a) I make it £765 a year I currently pay against what would be £537.00 a year with sky, however I could knock another £75 off that If I could stick with BT line rental>
Anyone know if this is possible, or if I can get a better deal again elsewhere? I need unlimited BB as I stream a lof of TV (Netflix, iplayer etc) and I also game a reasonable amount using Steam, thus large and regular downloads. Unfornatly I'm also not in a position to get cable (boo!). I was also curious if I would still get the same sort of download speeds I get from BT? (Aproxx 12mb/s)
Regards
Paul

Sky also do a line rental saver scheme however you have to phone them to do it. When does your LRS with BT run out?0

My BT one expires today! :P Left it a bit late to sort it out I know, but I'll pay for a month or 2 on BT's monthly line rental untill I'm ready to tie into a longer term deal again. All other services are past their initial contracxts too so all are changable with a months notice.
Would Sky offer the saver and still give me the deal? Any savings smaller than £45 over the year would be worth less than just paying it if I lost the 6 months free BB.

Sky will let you pay line rental in advance. Brings the monthly cost down to just under a tenner.
Might be worth signing up with Sky first, then calling to pay the line rental in advance. This would ensure you get the 6 month free broadband.0 -
Thank you all. I shall give Sky a call when i get some free time and get this all sorted. That new £31 a month joint gym membership I've jsut signed up for with the OH suddenly seems a lot nicer when its only an increase of £12 a month outgoings
