£90.00 ebay sales to add today. Unfortunately thats the last of some highly saleable items I had so I am now back to struggling with cheaper stuff.
No boot sale this weekend as it startd raining on the way there so we had a look round and came home. Very few stalls or buyers which is unusual for that bootie.
Trying to get a table at a table top sale for Sat. as I am doing a craft fair on Sunday so no boot sales here.

Just about to start parcelling eBay things so I will know what to add soon.

Just having a debate with myself. There's a local (2 mins down the road) craft fair at the start of May, organised by the charity my boyfriend's dad is president of. I need to find out the price of the stall, but I'm not sure whether to do it or not. I've not had the best of luck selling my things, mostly jewellery priced from 50p-£2, so it is pocket money friendly. I don't know whether to get more supplies I and expand a bit, or whether to take my jewellery making supplies, all bagged up, ready to sell. I was going to get rid of them anyway.

The craft fair might give me something to focus on for a month or so, I'm just worried it won't be advertised well and it'll be a waste :(

why don't you help advertise it? Stick an ad about it on fb selling pages, and netmums, etc. Try and rally people to go along and then take your bits and see how you get on?

Shame you aren't closer, could have helped and maybe see how you got on at the fair as to continue crafting.

Send me the details or if there is a poster you can send me that and i will add it to about 20 craft pages/groups - thats one of the things i do on fb :D

Also i would suggest you try to find out a bit about the type of people who are likely to come - will it be child friendly? face painting etc or more likely to be an older croud? maybe church groups etc? if the former then pocket money stuff is great, if the latter maybe not so good.

Also i would suggest you take both made items and some supplies if you can - the trick is appeal to the majority of people who will be there and you know there will be crafters there ;) xx

  • Hello!

Have been rather absent in terms of posting since the beginning of this challenge, but that's not to say that my mind hasn't been on the task ;-)

Had a uni essay due in (I also work full time) so the ebaying had to be put on hold, but submitted it last week so was able to get some stuff up over the weekend.

Sold a garmin (running watch) that had been hanging around my house for a couple of years for £91 plus postage - yay! And have a £25 bid for a fur wrap that I wore once as a bridesmaid :-) so that will take me up around the £210 mark I think :-)

Did also make some money with Ha**fax over the weekend who credited me £27 for the inconvenience of an error they made. must say that I received very good Customer Service from them. Spose it is money made, but just doesn't feel so tangible as it comes straight off of my debt rather than ever being in my bank account.

Still fairly new to the ebay game and was wondering where people buy their packing from? I try to reuse stuff, but don't always have enough... Is there anywhere good for cheap plastic sacks for instance?

    Thanks in advance!

Thank you, I'm just about to PM you to the Facebook picture of a poster, hopefully it works!

I think I will give it a go. If nothing else, it gives me something to do for a month or so!

In other news, I sold just four of the charity shop items (£5 for a bag of clothes) and I've made my money back and £3.38 profit :j I've still got an absolute ton of stuff, they're all listed so I'm going to go and revise them with every measurement possible...I had put armpit to armpit and armpit to hem, but now someone wants shoulder to hem. No harm in doing so.

Got another interview lined up tomorrow. It's £10 in petrol to get there, eep!

good luck for interview. Fingers crossed you get it. :T
  • No M/shops at weekend & my solitary eb*y listing didn't sell, so another Nil Point weekend for me :(

But I did manage to list another 10 items on eb*y on 7 day auctions, so will see what happens there. Might also try to add some 99p listings during the week on 5 or 3 day auctions. Need to try & dig out a couple of bits to go on gumtree too.

Good to see everyone else making progress :T

£2.56 in from TCB for me today :)

that takes my total up to £395.01 so far :) I'm hoping i make it to my £500 per month target this month - will be the first month this year if i do!

Also can i ask what is probably a really daft question......now i am so far down the debt free road i am starting to look at putting an emergency fund together :) I'm looking at savings options and with Martin advising ISA's i thought i'd look at them. The ones i have checked out have only 2-3% interest rate though and these are the best rates i can find :( I thought the interest rate on them was high cos of no tax thing so my question is does this 2-3% rate go on top of the tax rate so is actually equivalent to 22%?? (20% tax + 2%) cos otherwise there is a current account with 5% interest which would be better.....as i said thats probably a daft question but i just want to check what i'm doing :)
