Saved All Contacts To Old Sim
Hi all,
Recently upgraded my phone. I was told to save all my contacts to the old sim and then transfer onto new phone as my old sim would be deactivated 5 days after the new phone had been received.
So I saved everything onto my old sim. I got the new phone/sim yesterday but did not have time to transfer the details. The old sim has now been deactivated. I was told it would be 5 days after I received the new phone when this would happen.
Anyway I can get my contacts back? I'm with Orange.

More importantly, which handsets are you going from and to?
I know with my Satio to xperia Ray, the software imported the the contacts from the Satio and exported them onto the ray even the contact pictures were transferred across.0 -
If you transferred your contacts to your sim then presumably they were on your phone to begin with, yes ?
So they should still be on your old phone unless you deleted them.
Put your new sim in your old phone, transfer the contacts to the new sim and put the sim in your new phone0 -
Your contacts will still be there on the SIM. As others have pointed out, the contacts are probably still on the phone but if using an active SIM fails you as a method of getting your contacts SIM card readers exist.
Amazon sell cheap ones but they get mixed reviews. Maplin charge about £20 but the advantage of Maplin is that if it doesn't work it is easy to return it !
Also a phone unlocking shop may be able to read the SIM and copy the contacts to another SIM.0 -
Sim Memory is still readable, even if the mobile account has closed. put old sim in new fone n copy over.
or, new sim in old fone and re copy.
or, find a older nokia, copy sim to fone, then fone to new sim.0 -
My guess is that the problem is that the phone won't start with an inactive SIM.0
