O/S Daily Wednesday 27th February

O/S Daily Wednesday 27th February This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

I think I'm going to give it a couple of more days then go back to the doctors.

Anyway I hope that you are all sleeping well.

Remember its takes an early bird to open up the daily

    (Again):rotfl:

Sistercas, My birthday was Quite, I spent most of the day at home on my own. But I entertained myself online.

Last night my wife and I had a simple dinner of Pizza and a Bottle of wine. Quick and easy. Just the Job really as I had very little will power to do anything yesterday.
Sistercas I hope that you and your OH enjoy his Birthday and your afternoon together.

    Today Will be busy (ish)

My wife dose not have work today. So we will be off to aldi after the Kids have been taken to school.
There are the normal household Jobs that need to be done.
And then after school we have parents evening. This will be our 2nd one at since they started In September, We don't have any real problems with how they are comping along. So unless the Teachers have any worry's that we don't know about it should good reports .

Tonight for Dinner my wife is planning on cooking a nice dish out of her Hairy dieters cook book. I;m not sure which one as I really was not listening at the time! But I'm sure the four of us will enjoy it. There looks some lovely meal and dish ideas In the book. My wife has some of there other books and we have had some really nice meals out of them.
I don't know about you lot but our House in full of cooking books.
From the Very Old, Mrs beatons to the very modem and all between. that we have picked up over the years.

Thank you all again for the many many kind birthday wishes on here and on Facebook.

    :bdaycake: to sistercas' DD :T

halight Think you are right about giving in to the insomnia. That's what I do. No need to lie there, get up and do something:rotfl:
I slept well in the end last night. Cat woke me at 6.15 wanting food instead:rotfl:

Went to see my hairdresser yesterday to give her her birthday present, and she decided to blonde my hair. So I'm not dark now, blonde again!

DD had a letter from Social Services about Daddy's funding. They are challenging the NHS now! So they are fighting each other. I don't care, I'm not paying any more, that's for certain!

Daddy is sounding very rattley in his chest, I hope the antibiotics kick in soon, as he's so frail.:o

Had a lovely ys curry lasy night, not sure what to have today. Maybe veg lasagne.

    Have a good day all

  • Good morning all,
Belated birthday wishes to halight, hope you had a lovely day.
Happy birthday to you dh sistercas. Hope you both enjoy your pub lunch.
Cold here today. It didn't really seem to get light yesterday, very very dull all day. The rain has stopped now.
Off to work in a little while so really must get going.
Wm is nearly finished so i will put that on the airer. Everywhere is tidy, well apart from picking up after everyone once they have had a shower.
Tea tonight is sausage, egg, beans and mushrooms.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Sorry top hear that you dads chest is still no better, hope the Antibiotics start working for him soon.
As for his care, It makes me sick that the NHS, SS will spend time'people and money Fighting each other on who should pay for someones care!, the Money all comes out of the same pot, And that's the Tax payers Pot!
What a wast pf time and Money, Being silly on who picks the bill up When In the end the bill is payed by tax payers. Not them.
We all pay Tax. We all pay into the system and we should at the very least have the care we need from the system when we need it. That's the deal. You pay in, you help others in need and if your in need yourself you should get him.
You should not need to worry, Get stressed or have to Fight! For something you have helped to support In the past..

Sorry rant over Ill go away now:o

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Cloudy, dull and overcast but dry here this morning.

DH up and off to work early stupid early.

Dinner last night was roast chicken, potato bake, carrots, broccolli, braised red cabbage, stuffing and gravy - chicken was really juicy and had good flavour. I'm not sure what we will be eating tonight - I have done a plan but today's meal could be one of several things. Will decide later.

I was quite productive yesterday, spent most of the day cleaning in the kitchen - had put oven cleaner on the oven and left overnight so needed to get that cleaned off, changed the bulb inside the oven. Then cleaned all the cupboard doors, tiles, kickboards and worktops, also cleaned front of all white goods - did clean out a cupboard and had a move around of items to facilitate putting the BM into that cupboard as have too many items out on the worktops. Only need to hoover floor and then scrub - but ran out of time yesterday. Will also get a load in the WM as there's now enough for 1 load, will do any ironing too. Will go over to the flylady listing and see what's on today's list - will get stuck into that and want to a least make a start on DS2's bedroom, as Friday will be taken up with my usual Friday jobs, and I may have to take mum to hospital for an appointment tomorrow and take dad to get his replacement car key if it has arrived - so may be an out and about day tomorrow with little being done at home. If time allows I may look at getting tomorrow night's dinner cooked so it will only need reheating.

    Keep safe and well x
