Have you ever though about adding the child locks to the gates that you put on a fridge, etc? and also you could also ask on free cycle maybe? if you are going to have to do work on it anyway you may get lucky.

Unfortunately the only fridge locks I can find are the ones that stick onto a surface and I've tried those, he eats them! The only ones he hasn't touched are those actually on the fridge :rotfl:
I have asked on freegle, greencycle and some freebie pages on Facebook but no joy yet.
I missed out on one being sold by minutes, it was 2cm too small but at £10 I could have worked with it. I'll just be keeping an eye out for one on there just incase I get lucky.

Dont know if I should post this here but I will anyway. Just got back from a&e where my daughter is asleep under observation after taking a massive overdose of paracetomol, sleeping pills and anti depressants. She suffers with anxiety and depression and a problem at work seems to have pushed her over the edge. Luckily she told me within an hour and she got to hospital within 3. They have her on a drip to counteract the paracetomol ( has to be done within 8 hours ) and although she was very agitated she is now asleep and they have sent us home. seems she will be on the drip for 20 hours and then they will check her bloods again.
I was in such a state I could not even go with her in the ambulance. Hope she has not done any real damage. This is not the 1st time but the last time was over 9 years ago and I really thought she would not do it again.
Must go to bed now to get a little sleep before going back.

Oh Rose, I hope things are a bit better this morning for you and your DD. I'm just glad she trusted you enough to let you know what she'd done. I hope you both get the help and support you need, I know that's the important thing now.
Sending you hugs and you'll be in my thoughts xx

I had a dose of perspective today too

A 19 year old was told that they had a very aggressive form of cancer :(

I felt sick to the stomach hearing them get the news :(:(:(

Oh no Qoc that's terrible, I feel sick too x

    Good morning all,

I've missed out on the butter and yogs it seems - alas, my butter stash from the Lurpak glitch is nearly gone too

Working and lurking today as I have multiple reports to finish. I am, however, quite happy as my test went well and I'm ready for the customer. Hopefully the test will help us sell 25 more machines keeping over 50 men in a job :o

HI 3Dogs. I'm glad your mum was feeeling a little better. I bet the pizza tasted yummy especially a) when it's cheaper and b) you don't have to cook it :D.

Oh Mad that made me LOL! I've never been trouted by a customer before! :rotfl:

Really does put it into perspective. My father was diagnosed with a very aggressive kind. Luckily he survived after a very big operation and lots of chemo/radio. He's lost lots, but he;s still walking amongst us :) I hope the 19 year old wins that battle.
For beef I use half red wine and half water, although beer can work instead of wine.
Emily this is such good advice. I used to do all my roasts just in a little bit of oil. I now do them all with mixed veg pack and at least a pint of stock. The stock does vary depending on which meat I'm cooking. Steam-roasting like this makes meat oh so much better. :A
Oh and the beast has worked out how to open the new baby gates :(. Have lost a few of the bottom bits to my vertical blinds!! I'm not a happy bunny.
    .
After eating our 3-seater sofa our "beast" destroyed our verticals blinds by constantly jumping up at the window - I guess only doing his job protecting the house. Go for a completely solid door. The last thing you want is the beast smashing through glass!
    [...] it's asking a lot, but I will live in hope :A
Went to T yesterday to do a "normal" shop - it is getting harder and harder to do this :o:o Think I may need therapy to cure my distorted style of retail therapy :o:rotfl:
It's funny you mention this. I really don't think I can stop shopping. During DTD it was every night, as was APG. Even now I'm dreaming of shopping and thinking of ways to beat the system!
Rose I've quoted this because I couldn't say it any better
rose, depression is such an awful illness, I hope she gets the help she needs without delays. I'm so glad she called you soon after. Sending you both hugs, tell your family that they need to take care of your mum whilst you look after your dd.
Logie It's stories like that which make me happy I give blood - glad you got some good stuff :D

    Right - I'd best get started! :A

PS - All the children have improved dramatically. The household is getting better each day. I just hope the harmony carries on. THIS book was undoubtedly the best advice I've ever been given on parenting (and it's FREE on kindle)!
I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

Just had this email sent to me by Amazon promoting their trade in offer for books etc.

Don't know if anyone has experience of this but I've just checked through OH's collection of cycling books in my head and reckon there's £30 to be had.

Please note that I haven't checked out my cookery books as they are mine:cool:

Hi TM, I have used this and its really good, I swapped some books for a new handbag :j:j:j
