Just had this email sent to me by Amazon promoting their trade in offer for books etc.
Don't know if anyone has experience of this but I've just checked through OH's collection of cycling books in my head and reckon there's £30 to be had.
Please note that I haven't checked out my cookery books as they are mine:cool:

Rose. So sorry to hear about your daughter. It's awful when someone you love feels low enough to do this and it's so distressing. Hopefully the hospital will have someone from the mental health team talk to your daughter this morning when she's calmed down. She obviously needs some more help than she's been getting to cope with her illness. All you can do is give her as much support as you can......and that's not always easy. Take care :A

This looks lovely, will definitely try this out.Dont know if I should post this here but I will anyway. Just got back from a&e where my daughter is asleep under observation after taking a massive overdose of paracetomol, sleeping pills and anti depressants. She suffers with anxiety and depression and a problem at work seems to have pushed her over the edge. Luckily she told me within an hour and she got to hospital within 3. They have her on a drip to counteract the paracetomol ( has to be done within 8 hours ) and although she was very agitated she is now asleep and they have sent us home. seems she will be on the drip for 20 hours and then they will check her bloods again.
I was in such a state I could not even go with her in the ambulance. Hope she has not done any real damage. This is not the 1st time but the last time was over 9 years ago and I really thought she would not do it again.
Must go to bed now to get a little sleep before going back.
(((hugs))) to rose and her daughter.0 -
Good morning everyone, a bit miserable here but at least it is not actually doing anything out there.
rose28454, sorry about your daughter, I hope she gets the help she needs. Mental illness is a horrible thing, unfortunately my schizophrenic cousin took the only cure some 28 years ago.
Off to London to see friends I have not seen in about 30 years tomorrow :T:T:TWhat is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Morning all,
Rose, I'm thinking of you and your daughter. Depression is a horrible, debilitating illness. She must have been very desperate to do this. I really hope that she is offered the help she needs. Caring for someone with depression can be a thankless task at times, but she's going to need you so much right now.
I've been in both positions, the sufferer and the carer, neither is pleasant.
(Why is it that everything always seems like a platitude when you read it back to yourself?)
I really am thinking off you :-(

I'm being optimistic that he will have a new home by the time I buy and put the door up. I also think that he may be trying to get out thinking that I'm hiding on him, I'm willing to try anything!
