When my sister and I went down tonight, Mam was really bright and cheeky, smiling and giggling. She grabbed my hand as I leant over her and pulled me close laughing, and then my sister went to the other side of the bed and she did the same to her. Not in a distressed way at all, in a loving and caring sort of way. It was lovely
But, as soon as her dinner came, which was soup, 4 sarnies and whipped dessert today
, she started twisting her face. She tried one small bite of sandwich but chewed it a little and then went 'no, yuk' and spat it out into tissue. She then reached for her desert and started on that, but we had to feed her most of it. She did have it all though, but refused the soup after one spoonful. My brother said she had eaten about a quarter of her lunch
She has been drinking plenty though, and they are charting her fluid intake, with the carers/nurses going in each hour to make sure she drinks. She seemed to enjoy the Ensure drinks today, and had a whole one and started another while we were there, so that will fill her too
After eating, and having her nebuliser, she was in more negative mood, turning her head away from us, so I went round the other side and gave her kisses from there and she smiled again and my sister then managed to kiss her from other side. She wouldn't say bye-bye but did return a wave as we left
They are waiting for results of tests but she had been ok today, with no sickness or diarrhoea at all, it is just this food problem now
Tomorrow, I am going down to see her at lunch time to save my brother his normal Wednesday rush from his Healthy Hearts exercise class and I will then pop to see him afterwards to see how he is settling into his new bungalowMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hi FloFlo so tempted to try the meat shop but why am I so scared?:o It's such a clever idea I wish I could think like that. Just explained it to my dh & bro. Gotta give it a try haven't I. There are those elite on here who have me in awe and are willing to try things out & let us in & I'm truly grateful.0 -

I've done a couple now home delivery and collected one today. have not been challenged so far on the price of the shopping. Only downside is obviously you are limited to whatever is going half price the following day, sometimes the bogofs and multibuys work too, you just have to add to basket and see what is still not showing the offers applied yet.
I had some lovely finest beef the other day. Hoping for toilet rolls but please no more dishwasher tabs.:D0 -

Hi fairclaire how's you & dh? So glad you were able to go & tidy things up in France. Did you find out if the painting your Dad bought was signed by a known artist?
Hi:wave: So nice to see you posting more again:) DH is still not going out much but he's making alot of positive steps. Having said that he's not verywith me today. My stuff arrived from France and I might have forgotten to tell him it wasn't just the couple of things I planned on bringing home initially
To be fair my hall and front room do look like an auction room :rotfl::rotfl:
The painting.....if I'd looked at the paperwork that was with it properly instead of dismissing it because it was in French, I would have noticed the artists name on it. He was called Ben Wallis. I have personally never heard of him but some googling has sorted that out. It arrived with the other stuff today and I have to say Im still not taken with it. My dad had a thing for art but it doesn't strike me as to his taste either? Im thinking it was maybe an investment....who knows? Anyway my DS1 does like it very much. He unlike me, inherited the love of arty things gene. So it now belongs to him. And if it was bought as an investment.....he might be a lucky boy one day;)
oh long post.....:o0
