Flutteringby Getting Sorted in 2013

2013 is a really important year for us, financially and in terms of getting organised so I'm hoping a diary here will help! Bit of background.... Hubby and I have been together for 12 years, married for 4. We have a 2 year old daughter and are ttc for number 2 (we have just suffered a miscarriage but looking positively to the future).
We bought a fabulous house in August of last year, which has plenty of space to grow into. But we have some DIY to do, some putting our stamp on things, and [STRIKE]some[/STRIKE] loads of decluttering to do.
Before we moved we had a garage and a loft full of stuff. I have no idea what is in most of the boxes. Some was brought with us from the house before, and we dont seem to be very good at getting rid of things. The plan was to sort before we moved, but time ran away from us and we ended up paying to bring it with us
As we don't have a garage in the new house, all of it is upstairs in our spare rooms (we have 2 at the moment, but one will be bedroom for baby no 2!). This is not good! My parents are coming to visit this weekend and its taken us 2 weeks of just moving stuff around to get the room vaguely ready for them to stay. I really want to get organised after they go and make sure we are not in that situation again.
Also, we need to get organised financially. We don't have debts, but our savings aren't great. I am a stay at home mum but have a few money making streams which I need to improve and add to. Hubby works from home and travels a lot. His contract runs until November, and then we need to see if he is offered an extension, and if he is whether he/we want to take it (the travel is tricky with a young family).
Oops I've waffled on! I'll be checking in with progress on my decluttering/sorting as well as money saving. I hope this helps to keep me accountable :A

Good Luck with your saving, it gets quite addictive once you start.0

I've been having a look at our budget and have updated a few things. We now have £700 per month available to spend. This includes groceries, diesel, spending, clothes, entertainment and everything else which isn't a direct debit or savings. £400 per month is headed to various savings pots but they all have a purpose (Christmas, birthday presents, holidays, annual bills and DIY).
This week I've managed to sort out 2 boxes and a carrier bag full of bits for be charity shop. Feels good to have some stuff out the house!Mortgage Free Wannabe

Thats a great a spring clean. Try webuybooks.co.uk for books, a few friends have made a bit on this site but they don't take every book only a few depending on what they are.0
