I recieved some 'free' disney books the other day, just got the letter out and seen that they have sent me another 2 books which i have to pay for or send back within 7 days, has anyone ever heard of this and what happens if i pay and dont send them back, will i have to pay every time they send books, they say theu will send more in 3-4 weeks:confused:

Just return them as requested, and call and say you have decided not to keep the books and don't want them to send you more. I had no problems when i did this.

I've done this before and have sent the 2 'extra' books back.

If you don't, then they will keep sending you 2 books at a time. The 'free' books will still be good value for the cost of sending the others back - and a lot less hassle than arguing about payment - you will have agreed to them sending them. Just wrap them in brown paper and don't use the heavy cardboard pack they arrived in otherwise it will cost you a fortune!

I had problems with this company a few years ago, after getting a few free books with a disney video offer they called my husband asking if I would like further free books and he said yes (yes we had words  :D ). They had opened an account in my name and sent a parcel of books. I returned all the books and sent them a letter stating I had never agreed to an account and so please close it and do not contact me again and if they sent further books I would not be returning them, they would have to collect them. It did the trick and I never heard any more.

Make sure you cancel in writing and ask for confirmation of the cancellation, these book clubs including Grolier or House of Grolier as they used to be know are notoriously difficult to cancel with.

Ive sent books back many times and have never had any problems with them. I just keep the free books, request a pre-paid label and send the rest back!!

You need to be quite organised with Grolier I think (and not something I was up to with a young child!) I didn't get round to sending the 2 extra books back within the time the said, then they sent the whole rest of the series to me in one hit (about 20 odd books, I think). I couldn't face the hassle and ended up paying out. Made the same mistake twice would you believe it, and got two complete series! After that, each time they phoned I just refused the freebies.

On the plus side, the books were lovely, and my children did enjoy them, and read them for about 2 years. The only slight niggle is that they use american spelling even for books by english authors, but I guess at that age it doesn't really matter.

Oh, that reminds me, that was another reason I came adrift! They don't tell you anywhere in the paperwork which ones are the free ones, so unless you wrote it down at the time, you will not remember. Maybe try phoning them up. They do lots of different series (including more than one Disney set) so unless you tell people which ones they have sent you, it will be hard for anyone to tell you which ones to send back.

I tried them once, and ended up owing money. I've never bothered with any of the free book stuff any more, they always get me,cos I'm just not aware enough of the passing of time.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

i did this offer and got a free bowl, plate and book and then they sent me a similar set with a free shelf and 3 free books i think it was. I am collecting the whole set though while i have the money spare, think ill have to end it soon though when i go back to uni.

I also did a Beatrix potter one where u got the whole set for £9.99 with a free travel bag set. I wasnt best pleased when they then sent me 2 packs of books i didnt order as part of an "editors choice" which apparently u have to opt out of, but how could i opt out when i didnt know about it? in the end i kept that too as they half priced them for me, so will buy 2 more books and then close that account.
