HI Guys, Thanks all for your replies!
As an update we've now discovered that some of the lights we originally thought were "blown" have now turned themselves back on again! We have offered to pay for a new string of lights although only a few bulbs are not working... and the cause of this is now unsure. We are now waiting a response!
    Cheers,

    Cheers,

Trace back to the power supply. From the power supply you will find a splitter which effectively receives a lead from each of the lights (if it is 12v that is). Sometimes these can work loose. If you have been wiggling it about this might have fixed some of them.

Hmmm. I would now be arguing Fair Wear and Tear. Like a lot of outdoor consumer electrical products, this looks like short life disposable tat.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

Sounds to me like a problem in the fixed wiring. That is not the responsibility of the tenant.

The bulbs themselves work. Something else may have broken but, any other arguments aside, the bulbs work.
