Ok I have been shipped something using parcelforce 24h it was given to the post office on saturday, I was expecting like most professional courier companies next working day delivery means monday delivery, but it was still in the post office until today.

I also assumed 24h means next day delivery basically within 24 hours.

Here is what the tracking currently states.

given its 9pm now is this unlikely for delivery tommorow? I am in the east midlands. Whats forwarded for processing mean?

have you read small print most parcel companies make exclusions for items going to or from certain highland postcodes ie takes a day longer

ok lets forget about the sunday thing for now, I am concerned about this stuck in inverness.

Now its at the national hub, not even at local depot yet.

Who thinks it will still be here today ;)

I expect all of us are waiting with baited breath.

Inverness may be considered to be in an extended area so 24h might mean 48h. Most carriers extend delivery times for remoter areas. Should be dome info on their website with a list of post codes with slower deliveries.

so even tho its still in inverness right now it will get here by end of today?

The reason I said I expected monday delivery is when I order from amazon at weekends the courier picks up on sundays for monday delivery.

yup, and if you start shipping tens of thousands of items from one point
the couriers will happily make the trip

My last parcel collection and delivery by Parcelforce, took 5 days!

I phoned and the parcel was (impressively) collected on the same day!

It became slightly worrying when another driver called to collect the next day!

Tracking showed the parcel was at local depot on Wednesday, still there Thursday and Friday. Friday morning I phoned three times, with their promises to advise why the parcel hadn't been delivered.

The third assistant eventually phoned back, but needed to speak to the driver, which wouldn't be until the following Monday morning.

I had given the Ebay buyer the tracking number, and kept him updated on the parcel's lack of progress.

Monday morning, the assistant phoned and said the parcel had been found, and would be delivered the same day.

Apparently the driver who collected the parcel should have stuck labels on the parcel, which he hadn't. And it had become lost.

Eventually the buyer received his parcel, and was very understanding about the whole fiasco.

And just to balance the anecdotes - I've been shipping with them for over 18 months, about 10 parcels a week, and have only had an issue with 1 so far.

  • Everything I've ever received from ParcelForce has been at least a day late, and I live in a medium sized town on the south coast, not hard to get to.

All my ParcelForce 24/48's have been delivered when due, some 48's have even gotten to me the next day.

Zooplus ship from Germany via PF24 and one came in three days!

my last parcel was sent from Germany last week Tuesday, arrived in the international hub on Wednesday. There was no info on the tracking for the next 3 working days, now it shows again as arrived on - hold your breath - Tuesday this week. I am fuming and should it arrive tomorrow I will have then taken 4 days off to be at home for it's arrival. I have emailed several times but had no reply. Poor, poor service. The last one in February disappeared and was never found. As the company who sent it did not tell me it had (delivery between January and May for seed potatoes) it was then over the 30 days where they could complain to PF.
