Ok I have been shipped something using parcelforce 24h it was given to the post office on saturday, I was expecting like most professional courier companies next working day delivery means monday delivery, but it was still in the post office until today.
I also assumed 24h means next day delivery basically within 24 hours.
Here is what the tracking currently states.

PF dont make collections on Saturdays, but if it was collected today then you will most definitely receive it tomorrow0

Like most professional courier companies, Parcelforce use Monday to Friday as working days. Meaning no pick up Saturdays as above. Delivery will be tomorrow by 6pm.0

You'd have had an outside chance if it went to a Parcelforce depot on a Saturday but no chance at a post office..0

so even tho its still in inverness right now it will get here by end of today?
The reason I said I expected monday delivery is when I order from amazon at weekends the courier picks up on sundays for monday delivery.0 -
its still at inverness depot forwarded for processing.0

When they are running late they just mark as, 'delivery attempted' or 'unable to locate property' even if they've been no where near you. I presume this keeps them within the guaranteed delivery time?0

It isn't beyond their capabilities. Most couriers come in for a lot of criticism but their delivery systems are often quite impressive.so even tho its still in inverness right now it will get here by end of today?
I had a parcel in Dubai Sunday afternoon that was delivered in Manchester Monday morning..0 -
Amazon are in a position to tell the couriers what to do, most sellers aren't. If you purchased from me on Amazon on a Sunday afternoon, even with express delivery you wouldn't receive it until Tuesday. I'm sure I could find a courier to collect on a Sunday but I'm guessing their charges would be at least ten times week day rate.

ok lets forget about the sunday thing for now, I am concerned about this stuck in inverness.
Now its at the national hub, not even at local depot yet.
Who thinks it will still be here today
