Try rightmove as well, papers are good though, and look out for signs in house windows.
We've been looking at rental properties. What are the guidelines for 2 adults and 3 children for rental prices? I know it depends on your area but is there anywhere I can check. I would hate to get settled and the OR refuse our rental cost!!??

Always a tricky one but I would ask your local council what the Lcoal Housing Allowance (LHA) is for your area (based upon your families need - number of rooms) for a suitable sized property.
I think an OR would have a very hard time saying that a rent potentially coverable in full by Housing Benefit (whether you would get HB or not) was excessive.
LHA is based upon slightly less than average private rentals in the area.

Instead of renting my Brother has mentioned us selling our house (inheritence). We would both want a fresh start (my mother died in the house). What would be the implications of me suddenly having a lump sum from inheiritance if OH is going to go BR?0

If it's your house then you keep the money...in your account...not a joint account. If your share of the house is jointly owned by you and your partner then you share the proceeds. Your partners share then goes to the OR.whatdowedonext wrote: »Instead of renting my Brother has mentioned us selling our house (inheritence). Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

No the house is in my name only and will go to an account in my name only. That's reassuring to know thank you.
One more question currently I am a stay at home mum and unable to work due to ill health. My OH works and pays all the bills if I get proceeds from the sale will my husband's OR expect me to contribute to the household bills?0
