            Good luck!
Is a lot of the £120 normally travel costs/petrol?
mostly idiotic spending. its mainly cigarettes ( i know, i know what everyone will say, but my plan is to buy a pack every other day), lunches and breakfasts as explained, sweets, eating out before getting home and off course bus pass
Many thanks for your kind words.

I spend the following each week:
 5 Baguettes - £1.25
 Ham/Chicken - £1-2
 6 Bananas - 70p
 Fresh salad mix - £1
Pack of favourite chocolate - £1.
So it costs me about £5 each week for work to eat, there is tea and coffee available, occasionally I'll get a yogurt at 35p.
But I know how you feel I used to spend £2-4 in the shop on sweets and energy drink etc.
Thanks ahhh yes i forgot about the redbull, i used to have one everyday now no more. plus i will re-use the water bottle i bought today every day until friday and then but one on monday

What £120 per week? I have an open mouth, jaw dropped.
Let me introduce you to the flask. A water bottle and home made roll. Fresh fruit.
I was pushing it when I last bought a sausage roll from Boots. That was because we had run out of bread @ home!
Good on you for walking to work, no hanging about for a bus. Hard when it is raining....invest in a large umbrella?
Cigarettes - no I am not saying anything.
Could you not have a day trip to Belgium and bring back a stash! The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0

            Hi learningaboutinsurance!

It's basically what you are doing here, people pledge an amount for the week and pop in to update as/when they spend anything.
I find it useful to get everything written down. And everyone else there can keep you motivated to stick to your budget.0

Well done you - I have been trying to do the same for some months now and have good weeks and bad weeks. I allow myself to buy a sarnie at work once a week and usually on my long day. I aim to not do that at all in the future but I'm being realistic with where I've come from and heading to.
I've also cut right down on groceries too - although that took a lot longer! Keep it up and well done again.Debt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)
 Loan 1 £1787
 Loan 2 £1683
 Total £8601 Was £393020

learningaboutinsurance wrote: »also i decided i was fortunate enough to work quite close to home about 1.4 miles a walking distance but instead i was forking out £20 each week on a bus pass when if i walked i would get there only 10 mins later than the bus so i got up 15 mins earlier and walked to walk saving that £80 month hopefully sticking to it
Do you have a bike? You could cycle 1.4 miles in 10 minutes and keep the extra 15 minutes in bed! Such a short distance would mean you wouldn't need to shower at work or anything.
Not much fun in the rain though.0

and it tasted the same as the tesco & sainsbury's ones. so i decided i will pay tescos £2 rather thans this idiot.
I make a sandwich for lunch every day and it costs less than 50p! Why pay the idiot £5? Why pay the idiot giant £2?
Put the £4.50 in YOUR pocket and make your own sandwiches! That's five times a week = £22.50. Every little helps!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
