I hope No ONE minds this.. my Budget for this for the work week

Hello,

I am sorry if anyone minds but wanted everyone encouragement and help is achieving my weekly budget. i am very determined to spend as little as i can over the course on teh working week. in which i spend way too much money :(

My Target spend way less than £120 I normally spend from Monday to Friday so here goes

W/C 25/2/2013

Monday: spent: £13.35 from normally £40 :T

Did this by walking to work, buying banana's to last me the weeks breakfast instead of Bacon & sausage sandwich and latte, made coffee at work for free (its the instant stuff  but it has to be done. had a £2.00 sandwich instead or the normal £5.00 sandwich filled up my water bottle from works water cooler machine instead of buying a bottle of coke

will update during the course of the week

hope i keep this up:o

If you keep doing that you will make big savings over a month.
Are saving for something or wanting to pay off debt with the cash?

  • Fair play to you, I have no idea how anyone could ever justify paying £5 for a sandwich anyway.

Thank you for your kind words.

yes, its too go on holiday too see my OH family which she has not seen in 7 years. I will be taking a loan for this but i want to pay it back very quickly so i am starting as early as i can so i that i have enough practice and some back up money to pay more than the agreed amount every month

also i hate when at the end of the month i look my bank statement and there very little left when in reality there should be much more and its due to my idiotic spending that there is only little bit left.

    Good luck!

Is a lot of the £120 normally travel costs/petrol?

    Thank you

the light bulb moment happend when i saw him use prepacked bread which did not cost the shop owner no more than £1.00 for the loaf of bread and the fillings were prepacked stuff and was disgusted that i have been paying £5 everyday for a sandwich which was not even michelin star

and it tasted the same as the tesco & sainsbury's ones. so i decided i will pay tescos £2 rather thans this idiot.

also i decided i was fortunate enough to work quite close to home about 1.4 miles a walking distance but instead i was forking out £20 each week on a bus pass when if i walked i would get there only 10 mins later than the bus so i got up 15 mins earlier and walked to walk saving that £80 month hopefully sticking to it

  • I spend the following each week:

    5 Baguettes - £1.25
    Ham/Chicken - £1-2
    6 Bananas - 70p
    Fresh salad mix - £1
Pack of favourite chocolate - £1.

So it costs me about £5 each week for work to eat, there is tea and coffee available, occasionally I'll get a yogurt at 35p.

But I know how you feel I used to spend £2-4 in the shop on sweets and energy drink etc.

    Hello!! :hello:

Join the No Spend Day Challenges if you haven't already! (this is Februarys) They're a big motivator for me. Stops the unnecessary spending during working hours!

I have (instant!) coffee at 10.30am
Once a week AT THE MOST! I'll treat myself to a cappuccino on my way in to work! That's my treat for being good the other 4 days!! ;) (and that's not taking into account the coffee shops me and OH visit every weekend! :o)

I bring my lunch to work every day
I will only ever buy grub out if I've a prearranged lunch with mum and dad or something. And even then more often than not I hide my sarnies under the cafe table and only buy a coffee!! :rotfl:
What you could do is bring your lunch in 4 days, and 'treat' yourself to a £2 Tesco sandwich once a week if you were being lazy!! ;)

I walk to and from work

I refill my bottle of water at home and bring it to work

My bottom drawer is home to my 'stash' of goodies, eg. cereal bars, for when I'm feeling peckish
Multipacks are bought in Poundland or Tesco's and I (try to) limit myself to 1 at a time :o lol

Good luck and happy saving!! :D
