I believe that there would have been penalties for leaving if I had done so within three months, but I was just outside of that period. in any event, I cited 'breach of contract' on FU's part in my complaint letter so did not expect any penalties to be applied.

I have yet to receive my settlement bill, so do not know if they have applied any, but we'll wait and see - and fire off another complaint if they do.

The application of any early exit fees other than in accordance with the terms of the contract entered into could indeed be considered a breach of contract ;)

    Hi Dipsy

Did you get a final bill from EON? If you did then FU would have provided them with the meter reading, at least thats what happened when I left EON?

    Sue

I don't recall getting a final bill from Eon, but I got a cheque for £35, I don't know how FU can have given EON a reading my meters are in my house....

I have no reported them to the ombudsmusman (can't spell it lol), and whilst I was doing this I was online on the chat to FU.. they have now asked me to take pictures of my meters and send them....

but before this they asked me for my opening readings from Oct... how would I know this ... I didn't even know the switch had taken place and no one asked for any readings

they said they have used the industry standard to work out my meter readings,,,, what on earth does that mean?
    2007 £1749
    2008 £291.99
    2009 JanMasscara £7.00 Feb megcabot books x 2 £20 XFactor tkts x 2 £58.00 (couldn't go though as they only phoned on day :-( ) foundation £7.99
total so far for 09 £92.99

Could you contact Eon and ask what final meter readings they were provided with? I also got a cheque from Eon as I was in credit when final readings were applied.

Sorry to pop on to this thread dipsy but just a thought. Did you manage your account online whilst you were with us?

If you did, the final bill will be posted online. You should still be able to see this by logging on to your old account with the username and password.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi dipsy

I know what you mean about usernames and passwords. There's so many now! :)

If you contact us, though, we can let you know your username. From there, you'll be able to use the forgotten password link on our website to reset the password and log into your old account.

    Hope this helps.

Anyone else still waiting for a bill from First Utility????

Switched to them at the end of October to their Fixed term which was the cheapest on the market. Was expecting a variable direct debit monthly bill.

Yet still no bill. Have rung them today and about a month ago and they just keep saying "don't worry, you should get a bill soon!!!!"

Beginning to wonder whether I made a mistake switching from British Gas just to save myself £100 a year. For me, the service from British Gas was good. Submitted meter readings on the smartphone app once a month, then only paid for what I used. Simples. No going into large amounts of credit/debit depending on the time of year.

I changed over in November and have received my bills monthly. I have only seen one reminder for my readings though but just submit them at the end of the month. Been checking my useage etc online and all good for me.
