currency deflation deniers - now that's interesting......:think:MacMickster wrote: »You think that we are telling porkies?
Perhaps you would like to do some research and tell us what the real pound:euro exchange rate was 12 months ago and in May 2010 when Labour were last in power?chewmylegoff wrote: »It's difficult to argue with the graphs of the actual exchange rate but you're welcome to do so.
Really? Well argue with this....
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-21570578Sterling fell during trading in Asia as financial markets reacted to the loss of Britain's top AAA credit rating.
The pound fell to a 31-month low against the dollar and a 16-month low against the euro.
Hard to deny those facts isn't it?0 -

Yes, the pound fell to 1.145 euros to the pound, as I stated in my previous post. 12 months ago it was at 1.18, so has fallen 3%. In May 2010, when Labour last had the reigns the exchange rate was 1.15.
What is the point that you are trying to make?
Edit: Dependent on the results of the Italian elections, the pound will either go up or down against the euro tomorrow."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0 -

You should realize that both sets of facts are true:
The pound hasn't fallen by very much and is higher than at some points under Labour
The pound is at multi-month lows
Is that so hard to understand? You're arguing different things so can both be right.

Wow a 31 month low. So the pound hasn't been this low for nearly 3 years. Yep that's evidence of chronic devaluation. We're all going to die!!!!!!0 -

The pound is at a 31 month low. How long has this government been in power? 31 months exactly, I think?
So basically the pound hasn't been lower since...32 months ago, when labour were in charge. Just wondering if you have any thoughts on that or whether you will keep just ignoring the facts in a pointless attempt to gain some kind of political capital on an Internet message board.0 -
