Opened my payslip without me knowing..???

Put an illegal matter down to experience? It shouldnt have been opened at all. The fact that it was by someone other than me is a big issue that can not just be brushed under the experience carpet.
Yes I know. But you do NOT know who DID open it. What I am suggesting is that you can complain but that you don't accuse anyone by name.
What AP and Kingfisher have said is pertinent; payslips should be handed out.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Many companies do not post out to home addresses, but a manager gives the payslips (unopened) to the employee. In fact, this has been the case for the companies that I have worked for, the company my ex used to work for, and the two companies that my daughter has worked for. My ex worked for a very large delivery company, my daughter also works for a national company, and one of my employers was a popular high street fashion chain. None posted out payslips unless employees were off sick or on holiday.0 -

Yes. Other staff also said their permission was asked. It STILL doesn't prove this supervisor opened the OPs slip. Someone else could have opened it...it was left lying around. The supervisor could say 'No; I didn't open Tubie's payslip; she hadn't given permission. I didn't even ask for permission, I only opened those payslips where permission had been given'.
All the OP can be SURE of is that SOMEONE opened it.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Managers, supervisors etc could well be allowed to see you pay details. All depends on company policy.0

In fact it makes it much easier to just do this - say you didn't realise it was open until you got home as you were in a rush. Say you are concerned that pay slips are left in a place where other people have access to them. At the very least it won't happen again and someone will have a red face.
In the end you have no proof and you have to continue working there and presumably with the 'suspect'.0
