Opened my payslip without me knowing..???

But payroll know who was paid what and have no need to ask anyone to open anything. IF you had been paid less I am sure you would have said something. To be honest I have no idea. I am not sure why they were opened exactly, just that it was something to do with checking wages were right because a lot of us didn't get all our overtime hours paid to us. But my issue was that I wasn't even asked or notified it had been opened, literally nothing. No missed calls, no voicemails. I'm pretty sure she probably called everyone but me, just out of spite. We’ve had to remove your signature. I realised afterwards that I should have asked why it was open, but I would have missed the last bus and I just didn't think. I'm pretty sure it was the supervisor who opened them, as she was in charge of making the calls to ask for peoples permission to open them. They are usually just left sitting in the office or the staff room.0

You need to go in tomorrow and ask HR what the procedure is to complain about someone opening your payslip without your permission.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0

Well she has covered herself; if it WAS her she phoned other people and got their permission. She could easily claim she also phoned you and got yours; you would deny it; your word against hers and she HAS got witnesses who were asked.
If it WASN'T her she can say that she didn't ask for you permission so SHE didn't open your payslip, it must have been someone else.
Anyone who works there could have had a nosey...
You are going to have to put this down to experience, unfortunately.
At the moment all you can be certain of is that SOMEONE opened it. it really won't be worth the hassle you would get if you start naming names, or acting on hearsay. Because that is all it is. If you feel you must complain complain only that your payslip was opened. Put an illegal matter down to experience? It shouldnt have been opened at all. The fact that it was by someone other than me is a big issue that can not just be brushed under the experience carpet.0

I report the fact that all payslips are not locked away somewhere and left open to anyone to take. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Not only should your payslip remain unopened, but they should not be left lying around in the staff room or office. They should be kept safely until a senior member of staff can hand it to you. If they are in the staff room, anybody could pick it up and take it - not saying that they would, but they could.
