3 Contract Up in 4 Months. Looking for best deal on a Galaxy S3

Good thing to start hunting early. My 3 contract is up in 4 months and I want an S3 handset.
My family are all on 3 (4 separate contracts) of which I have the sole charge of looking after them. I do know that a month before my contract ends I will start getting the customary calls from 3 asking me to renew my contract.
I have already started looking around at what is available. I, like most people totally under use my monthly calls, texts and data allowance. I currently have a Galaxy Ace and the Text 500 plan which costs me £18.65 p/m. Obviously the S3 is a more expensive handset, so I would expect to pay a little more, but my brother nailed down his provider (T Mobile) to £20 p/m and a free S2 a couple of months ago. Obviously with the imminent arrival of the S4 I would like to think that when the time to talk turkey with 3 they will play the game.
I am a long standing customer and the fact that I control not just 1 but 4 separate accounts, with that in mind I have the ability to take that business to another provider if they don't play the game.
We shall see.

I'm looking at a deal for 500 mins, unlimited text, unlimited mobile internet through T-mobile at mobilephonesdirect (won't let me post the link)

But, I did read on here that someone went for that deal, got put on the wrong tariff and had great difficulties so having second thoughts. Not seen much better out there at the moment. Obviously things would have change by the time you finish your current contract. Best of luck getting the PAC from 3 - remember to give 30 days notice and request the PAC!

dont bet on 3, we have been with them 6 year plus, they dont budge as they used to
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • How about the Mobiles.co.uk offer for £26-a-month on Three? Free S3, 500 mins, 5000 texts, unlimited data. £27 Quidco/Topcashback too.

I tried to post the link but it wouldn't let me. It's on their front page.

The S4 is Due out April, so the S3 will be on the lower tier pricing once it is a model down.
    Be happy...;)

I'm not so sure on that. I would say the S3 is already off the top tier now. It can be got easily for under £30 a month whereas I would say the top tier is more like £35 a month.

If it follows the S2 (still mostly £20+ a month even now), I can see it holding that price for a few months after the S4's release.

I've noticed that T Mobile do some pretty reasonable deals on the S3. I am certainly not adverse to changing to another provider if I don't get what I want. Makes no difference really. And as the other contracts start to end i'll just take them with me. Yeah, it might just be 4 customers out of tens of thousands, but it is my money.
It is also the overall cost of the package over the agreement term that you have to factor in. Cost of handset and 24 months at whatever monthly cost. Currently the average total cost is around the £500 mark.
The way I see it loyalty is a two way street. If I am loyal enough to sign up for another 2 years then they have to show something back.
In any case there is quite a bit of time yet.

Have a look in the 3 retention deals thread. May give you some idea what other people have been getting.

Would an S3 mini be acceptable, cos this contract on Tesco looks like a spiffing deal to me http://shop.tescomobile.com/mobile-phones/pay-monthly/samsung/galaxy+s+iii+mini?deal=7749

Otherwise the S3 grown up is £10 more per month.

I'm confused cos their S2 deal at £20 per month only offers 500mb data, whereas these S3 deals both include 1gb.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)
