I see..........hmm, will have to give it some thought then, thankyou. I'd be amazed if PC was abolished but ya never know do you?. I'd also be amazed if I went back to full-time work within my husband's lifetime (he's disabled, obviously, and needs me as carer, our son is Autistic and needs me as carer, and I cannot legally drive due to uncontrolled Epilepsy, so going out to work even part-time proved very tricky last time I did it).
I think (but may be wrong) that I might get Income Support if we lost both ESA and PC. However, I do see the point of continuing on with the ESA, it's just a pain in the bum and a worry.

I think sometimes you have to go with your gut instinct. No one knows what is going to happen benefit wise in the future.
  • Yes, that's true. My husband panics about things, he feels terrible that he doesn't 'support the family' as he used to when he worked 6 days a week and I don't want to encourage him to do something that goes wrong. I don't want the ESA stress either though!.

What DLA care & mobility rates does he get?

What ESA rate does he get - before deductions?

What PC amount does he get?
  • He gets middle rate care DLA and high rate Mobility, £99.15 a week for ESA as there aren't any deductions, and I can't find the letter at the moment but he gets £90-something P.C a week because he gets some extra due to me being a carer (in receipt of C.A).

There's usually a top up on ESA after migration from IB. Did he get £198.30 a fortnight on his IB?

I'm just wondering how much you would get if you claimed IS instead of his PC.

    You would Get
    111.45
    32.60 CP
    106.45 PP
    Total 250.50
    subtract CA 58.45
    = 192.05

And you would subtract whatever he gets on ESA if 99.15
    that would leave £92.90

That is very similar to what he gets on Pension Credit. Just so you know.
But the PP Pensioner Premium only applies now under current rules, if they abolished PC then perhaps the PP would also go and you would be left with only EDP £43 ?

If he stays on ESA he will get hassle from the JC to do various things including attending interviews and find work or else?

Do you have DLA youself for the epilepsy?

Apparently not if he is on a WRAG appeal. And no-one on WRAG is expected to "find work".

If the appeal doesn't work then he will be expected to attend work focused interviews, yes bigbill. We'd get less on Income Support than we do now on PC and ESA, or if we stopped ESA and just had the PC, because our savings stand at £11,000 (inherited premium bonds). I get the lowest 2 rates of DLA for the Epilepsy, which I think is completely fair. My husband uses his mobility payments to fund a motability car - it rarely gets used since my Epilepsy diagnosis as driving is physically painful for him. We're scared to give it up though as we live in the sticks and public transport here isn't particularly disabled friendly.
