hi everyone.....hope you're all having a nice Sunday.

Lazy one here.....spent the morning with my dad....we live next door to my parents and he has dementia, so I always spend Sunday mornings with him while my mum's at church. He was in good fettle today.

After lunch, I made a pan of chilli for tea one night, and some cupcakes and chocolate crispie cakes....might keep them going for puddings after tea for a few days. Youngest DD and I are having chicken korma, rice, poppadoms and onion bhajis for tea.....I froze the korma one night through the week when she went to a friend's house for tea. Pizza and salad for eldest DD....well, by salad I mean a bowl of iceberg lettuce.....she doesn't have very adventurous tastes!

Last day off before we're back to work, school and college tomorrow...it's been a very quick week!
Youngest DD is having a lazy day at home, but I know she's worried about feeling ok for school tomorrow....told her she'll just have to try her best. School has been brilliant and have put her on a reduced timetable, so she only has to be in for the most important lessons and most days she can either come home early or come home for a couple of hours in the middle of the day and then go back. She's just so fed up with feeling exhausted all the time.

redruby....you must be so pleased to have your daughter home...she'll be shattered.

Well, going to have half an hour with my magazine....

At 33 weeks she is size of full term so is causing irritable uterus.
    More growth scans next week.
Thanks for all good wishes and thoughts:A

    Evening all,

NPM...glad that you are home and ok, lovely video.

Very cold here today but had a nice swim this morning....packed with families though so will avoid early Sunday another time.Need to keep going as it certainly eases pain in back/leg...this getting old crack is no fun!

We had steak with mixed mushrooms, sweetcorn, onions and chips....really enjoyed it....bought the mushrooms in a jar from Aldi/Lidl, drained some and rinsed through, fried with onions, really nice so will make sure I keep a jar in cupboard, will be nice to vary veg.

Visited my cousin's widow on way home from pool, she is very lonely so we had a nice chat....stayed longer than I meant to, I have known her for about 55 years and she has always been nice to me so was glad I called...she has never lived alone before and winter has seemed very long.

Made a loaf earlier and left it to prove for a long time as I think you get a better flavour that way, also used fresh yeast which I can't always get, last time I got some in Polish shop I froze it so will get some more before this batch runs out.

Hugs to all who are having a rough time, brighter and even warmer weather has to arrive soon....doesn't it??

    Stay safe and warm

    Evening
Very cold here today, only popped out to pick up my mum and take her home after dinner. Glad as after busy (and expensive) week, not to have too much to do.
OS dinner was lamb in SC, DW on, WM been on and washing on airer. Need to menu plan for rest of week, am hoping every day this week will be NSDs so want to be prepared so no unecessary shopping.
NPM the scan video is amazing, so exciting to see.
Halight, couldnt agree more about well fitting shoes for children, I remember my mum telling me off as had tatty shoes but wouldnt hesitate to pay £30+ for clarks for my 2.
Redruby hope your DD got back OK, sure she will have lots to tell you, know what you mean about having them safe under your roof, I feel like that when my DD comes home from uni and shes less then 100 miles away when shes there.
    Thoughts to all.

    Evening everyone

Hoping everyone has had a peaceful/enjoyable Sunday.

Our meeting went well and it was great to catch up with friends we haven't seen for a while. We didn't get home until gone 5pm as meeting over-ran, then friends wanted to chat etc. Friend at the meeting said she had a halogen cooker for sale she didn't want and I managed to buy it for a good price - am really pleased as wanted one for ages - so now have one - it will be an absolute gem for cooking items when I don't want to put the main oven on, and of course we can take it away with us in the caravan - when we stay on a site with electric hook up we pay extra so now can utilise that extra spend by cooking by electric not my gas hob and oven! The bottled gas we use has really shot up in price so any saving we can make is very welcome. The price I've paid for the cooker will pay for itself within a year, so I'm very happy with that. Also we would normally succumbed to ordering takeaway as we were late home and hadn't really planned for a meal tonight - but said to DH on the way home when he asked what we were having for dinner, that I hadn't planned anything but we weren't going to be ordering takeaway, he asked what I'd got in fridge/freezer etc and we decided that scampi, jacket potatoes, peas/beans for him and the boys would be ok and for me fish, jacket and peas - I'd planned this meal for tomorrow night but checked the freezer and found a joint of pork so this is defrosting at the moment - this will be tomorrow's dinner.

Keep safe and well everyone, it's really cold here and keeps snowing but not settling.
