DD has gone to Liverpool yesterday to meet youngest who is studying there and also older sister who is meeting up with them both. They should have a great time catching up and having an early birthday celebration for middle dd.

Seems strange with only three of us here today but can't wait to have her back.

DH loves traditional Sunday lunch with beef in gravy, yorkies, roasties loads of veg and dried peas so that is what he is getting today. Have started using local butcher and found beef cheeks which in places like France are a delicacy but are quite cheap over here (nearly 680 g of meat for £3) so have put them in the slow cooker overnight and hoped for the best.

No snow here but quite cold and want to make sure we have leftovers for tomorrow's hot lunch and also make a huge pot of soup tonight. The gas supply for the road is being sorted out so the road is dug up, barriers all over the place and next door neighours had no gas on Friday till quite late. Another neighbour had his telephone wire cut = no internet

We will probably get our gas turned off on Monday so want to make sure we have home cooked food that can be warmed in microwave as our hob, grill and oven are all gas. If I do want to cook something then the slow cooker has been dragged out of cupboard and there is also a Remoska to use. DH proud of the fact he got a portable gas heater so we can heat one room even if no gas supply;)

Desperate for a cuppa so see you all later and hug to all.

not in a good place today. i feel so bad moaning as i know there are people on here having a terrible time but today im very down in the dumps. about three weeks ago i had a really bad cold and then that went straight into a really bad period (sorry too much info!!) which laid me low and then the headaches that accompanied it were horrendous. then i had siaticia (sp) last week. went to doc and he put me on diazapam to go with the co codamol that i take every day for my arm. i went to work every day last week and really struggled but i made it. luckily it was hubbys week off so ALL i did was work and he took care of everthing else, then the pain eased on friday enough for me to go out for a meal saturday with some friends. sat morning - got up a bit sore but went off it @ldi and did the shopping. got half way round and my eyes went black. i shut my eyes for a sec and then when i opened them they had bad flashing lights - migraine on its way. so i got straight home and straight to bed. so couldnt go out with friends. this was about 11 so slept til 8 and the flashing had gone and didnt feel sick. my head still pounding now. hubby bought me a takeaway. £16 and it was utter crap.
SO - not feeling the love today. still got a bad head and im £16 quid down. i said to my husband for £20 i could have gone to the butchers and got some lovely meat. it was me that wanted the take away.
will check in later when im less grumpy. :(

All children are back at school tomorrow but I have an extra day off as they have discovered that we have done 20+ hours of extra meetings and it is an INSET day so there are no children at the school.
i am going to Eden Hall Spa for the day with 2 of my colleagues and I am so looking forward to it.:D

Chicken and sausage casserole for tea.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)
  • Good morning everyone :)

This was supposed to be a flying visit and then on with my weekend jobs but DH has developed a stinking cold, (a real one not man flu), so am letting him stay in bed and read his book and I am restricted to quiet jobs.

I got through more than half the list yesterday so want to finish it off then do some bits of listing on ebay, which has a free listing weekend. Am going to sneak off to Oxfam now and get rid of the bags in the hall, then wake DH and make him some brekkie.

Beef and potato curry ready to go in the slow cooker for dinner and DH fancies a change for his lunches so he is having tuna and bean salads this week, alternating with cottage cheese and oatcakes.

Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning all,

Its sooo cold! I resorted to putting on the gas fire on this morning until the central heating kicked in. I got up with the girls and couldnt stand the cold. Even the girls had the quickest toilet break in history. Not that i am complaining.

We keep having flutters of snow, nothing major, nothing thats going to stick but its there nonetheless.

Redruby glad to hear your daughter is back today. She will have so much to tell you i'm sure.

I'm going to suggest hubby cooks tonight as i am sick of him complaining about my cooking. I gave him indigestion last night, the night before that the meat was tough. I'm getting a bit sick of the nit picking now. For goodness sake ive been cooking his meals for the last 27 years and its only the last 12 months or so he's been complaining about them.

    Jobs for today:

    Vacuum downstairs
    Shopandscan/Consumer pulse

Good news, i listed some vouchers last night on eb*y as its free listing weekend and within an hour i got my minimum bid accepted.

Yes, i'm doing nothing else today.

    Good morning everyone.

Today is being spent inside in the warm.

I have a person due to call in the next hour or so to collect an eBay item, but apart from that the front door will be firmly closed.

Todays a relaxing day - just a bit of ironing to do, but nothing else needing urgent attention.

Dinner will be steak and ale pie, something hearty for this cold weather.

    Have a good Sunday

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
