Churchill Car Insurance debt and Credit Rating - Please assist me..

Hi, i have a small debt of £72 with Churchill. I was involved in a car accident and the car was damaged beyond repair, as the claim was going through, i completely forgot about paying off my last installment.
It was the last and final installment of £72, i lost my NCB as a result of the claim.
I would have got 2 years NCB for one year of faultless driving, but missed it by one month...gutted.
Anyway, it's gone through to 'Moorcroft' (i think), their DCA...
I have also just received my Credit File from Experian, and, Churchill/Moorcroft are not shown on it...yet...
Because this £72 has gone through to a DCA, does that mean that it will be reported as a DEFAULT on my credit file???
Im really worried because, i forgot about the final payment (amidst the claim/accident) and spent many months away with family.
Even satisfied defaults still show on your file for 6 years, and im gonna pay this debt in full on monday, but i fear that im too late.
Will this be regsitered on my file/???

It wont show on the credit file until they take you to court and (not sure) you you dont pay. Maybe its just the court bit? Someone will clarify that later.

    Are they adding charges on?

The other issue maybe when the last installment didnt go through did they cancel the policy? If so that will need to be declared...

Wording on some is have you ever had a policy cancelled. Click yes and some will say go away.

Lie though and they may not payout.

Thanks, the policy has been cancelled. No charges have yet been added on (i think). I rang churchill and they told me that theyve just recently passed it over to moorcroft, and now im worried thats its gonna be on my credit file as a default for the next 6 years...
  • Oh and, im not gonna get anymore car insurance...
The accident has put me off quite a bit.
Just dont want my file being dented.

Small Insurance related debts like this are not often reported to credit reports and are not often subject to any court action. But this will be chased for a number of months and to avoid the hassle of continuous contacts, you should pay it when you are able to.
