Ignore them.
I'm always here to help, many people have had success getting a Barclays account without the best credit history and there's always lloyds easycash account which both of these are basic accounts.
As you have bad credit history it might be worth making 3 or 4 applications online and see what happens.0 -
Nationwide cashcard account will accept everyone, It accepted me through bankruptcy so you'll have no problem. Its cashcard can still be used to buy things online too like a debitcard, The only bad side is the cashcard cannot be used abroad.0

Well, they can be a bit tricky. Barclays accepted me for a cash card account three months after discharge from bankruptcy. Six months later they allowed me to open a full current account.
I had never incurred charges on either account and always ran four figures through them each month, but six weeks after opening the full current account they cancelled my cards and wrote to me saying they don't want me back, don't bother trying.
And no, no Barclays accounts were included in my BR order.Nationwide cashcard account will accept everyone, It accepted me through bankruptcy so you'll have no problem. Its cashcard can still be used to buy things online too like a debitcard, The only bad side is the cashcard cannot be used abroad.
You're lucky, officially this account isn't open to undischarged bankrupts.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I was bankrupt in 2005, not the present, They must have changed it well after the date that i opened an account then
Exactly, eight years ago.
It's not generally a good idea to share advice with other forum members stating "Nationwide will accept anyone" based on your personal experiences of nigh on a decade ago, prior to the meltdown.
These days, they won't just "accept anyone"

Not just saying this because I'm with nationwide too well Flexi Direct, but I do believe getting a Nationwide account especially current account you've got to have a good credit credit file.
So with a good history its pretty easy but if you have parasites on your credit report they'll most likely bin you.0 -

I'm trying to rebuild it by gaining a good relationship with a bank. I'm currently with rbs but not finding them the best if I must be honest
First off I'd say stay where you are. But if you must change banks then you're stuck with a basic bank account but beware charges if you go overdrawn. Co-operative or Barclays get reasonably good reviews. Also Yorkshire bank if the highest charges in the universe don't cause anxiety attacks.
Lastly, you're not going to rebuild your credit just by having a good relationship with a bank. Only credit accounts will rebuild credit. My bank provided me with informal advice on how to do it: At least 5 accounts only one of which is mail order and only one of which is a mobile phone and includes a bank account. Now 5 years later that is starting to pay off although I now a lot more than 5 accounts. When approving my latest application the lender said, "You have sailed through our last checks."
If you're serious about rebuilding your credit sign up for free at noddle.co.uk and get your £2 reports from Experian and Equifax so you know your starting point which could be better than you think.0
