Start a petition to ban ambulance chasing lawyers advertising. Or one to require medical evidence which proves beyond reasonable doubt that an injury has been sustained before any compensation payout is awarded. That'll get your insurance down.
  • I posted on another similar subject yesterday, if you are getting quotes of £7k you are doing well we had quotes of £9.5k -£39k on a peugeot 206, im afraid my son has had to put driving plans on hold as affordadable car insurance for teenagers is a thing of the past
  • Evans Halshaw are doing free insurance on a peugot 107 vtr with free insurance incluing 19 yr olds.

anyone know how they manage this?
just because you are paranoid doesnt mean to say they are not out to get you

I would highly recommend looking into coop young drivers insurance. It's a tracker based policy but helped me cut my first year insurance in half. I'm now in my second year and will be removing the tracker at the end of this policy as the cost of normal insurance is now in line with the tracker policy( after building up experience/ncd). It is definatly something I would recommend.

On a side note I also believe that the trackers should be made compulsory in your first two years of driving. They helped me alot

Please pass the petition around and get many people to fill it in.
  • if i remember the £9.5k quote was with a tracker,

Hi, My niece learned to drive in hers dad's Matiz with an instructor. She passed her test after two years. (she was at uni and had no lessons in term time). The car was insured with Churchill and they said the 'learning time' would count towards NCD. She passed her test in February* and when it was up for renewal in September the cost was £278 online. Her dad rang the confirm this, repeating she was a new driver (6 months) and that the car is in his name and she will drive it at holiday times (not term time) for pleasure, i.e visiting friends, shopping, and not going to work every day. The cost was still £278. The excess is £300 for him but if she claims it is £300 + £300 'new driver excess.

This cost includes discount for having 2 x cars insured with Churchill and the house and contents.

*Rang them to tell them she had passed in feb and they said it stayed the same until renewal, i don't know what it was before

Might help someone if not OP

But. If you make it cheaper for younger drivers wont us oldies have to pay even more to cover the shortfall?
