Broadband without phone line

Do anybody know if you can use broadband without the phone line.
I want to finish with sky but need broadband,i was told there is something you can buy for just the broadband but i dont no where to try.Any help would be very grateful. Fed up with these bills!

If you have cable access, you could try that, otherwise the only option for Broadband without line rental is a dongle, and then you think mobile speeds, not phone line speeds, it's costly, as well as highly limited.

If you only read a few emails etc a day you'll be fine to use a dongle, if you surf constantly, watch iplayer etc, browse lots of pictures then you'll go over the limit of most normal sim deals pretty easily.

If it's sky that's the problem, switch to someone else to provide the phone service and also swap broadband to elsewhere.

Unless you go for a service from one of the mobile phone companies, you need a line for the broadband to come down. However, it doesn't have to have a phone service on it.
The best deals do tend to include the requirement to rent a phone line though, but you don't have to use the line.
I know Virgin Media will offer their cable broadband without the phone service, there could well be others.

VM cable is the only exception: all ADSL broadband requires an active landline, which requires you to pay line rental.
