How to agree a fair split in a separation?

My friend is strongly discouraging me from getting a legal separation, but i think for me it is the best option as at the moment my husband is fairly happy to agree a split - whatever it is as we sti have to decide, it's really hard !Back after paying off DMP in 2014 - want to make sure debt doesn’t start creeping up again

Since there are pensions and a house involved, in 5 years time the pension pot will be bigger and there will be more equity in the house, so you will have to pay your ex more to get the financial settlement.
If either of you were to inherit a sum that would also go into the pot. You would be advised to sort this out sooner rather than later.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
