    What spec you got Zahc?

    Im running Vista Home Premium with Aero and it runs very smoothly and as quick as my XP setup. I did fiddle with it though.

    Not brilliant I'm afraid;

    Vista Home Basic

    Celeron m 1.73 Ghz, 1 Gb RAM

    Click "start" then type in "Sys" in Search and select "system configuration"

    In the tabbed window select "startup" and anything you know you dont need starting up you can deselect from there.

    It may pop up a message "windows has blocked startup programs" but you can just close it as your pc should run quicker.

    Download and run ccleaner as well from time to time. Its an excellent utility to use.

    Yep, done that now and it's helped. I thought I'd done that via ccleaner, obviously not. I'm still sat here with almost 500 MB of memory being used so I'm going to audit the machine, but I still think it's a Vista thing.
