Fraud investigation-Tax credits

Surely a CRB check would of been completed before your husband took over, who paid for it? Do the council not keep records of such thing even if not employed directly by them?0

The letter was from DWP
we lived on one wage.
My husband was not claiming JSA or any other benefits
My employer is sloppy. No denying that.
So so worried about it allDebt owed

DWP don't deal with Tax credits thats the job of HMRC. What benefits was you husband claiming before he took over the job?0

He was'nt claiming any benefits, so he must of been was working?0

Something definitely doesn't sound right. Did you or did you not ever give your resignation?0

This is becoming very confusing because if the letter is from the DWP then it isn't to do with tax credits.
Let's go back to when you were working. You lived on just your wage? Was there any other income coming into the house?
Was your OH at home looking after the children?
I am at a loss as to what this is about.
My best suggestion is to wait and see what they say at the interview and go from there. Not much else you can do.0 -
Yes a CRB check was carried out by the employer
could that not back up what you're saying? I mean if the employer try to deny it they did a CRB check and there is evidence of that! I also think (worst case scenario) that these disabled people or their parents/carers could back you up that your husband picked them up
I really think this will get sorted, its the employer who's in the wrong0 -
Having re-read your initial post, the whole thing indeed doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
You say that you contacted the DPW following the letter, but that they refused to tell you what it was about. You then say that you never noticed it happening because you never got payslips.
So if you didn't know your employer was still paying you and not your husband, and the DPW didn't tell you what the fraud was about, how did you come to the conclusion that this is exactly what must have happened and the fraud has to do with tax credits????0
