Bringing money from Hungary to UK

Hi. Has anyone got any advice on this? My fianc!e has around £8000 worth of Hungarian Forint in a bank in Hungary that she would like to bring over to the UK. I am trying to find the best way to do this getting the best rate and not losing too much in fees etc. Only way so far I have found is by her bank in Hungary sending it as an electronic transfer to her HSBC account here but this can also be done in one of two ways by sending as Hungarian Forint then HSBC converting to GBP Sterling or by Hungarian bank converting to GBP Sterling and sending direct to HSBC here already converted!
Many thanks if anyone has any advice!

I opened a GBP account in Hungary, converted the forint when it was a good rate than sent it to England by international bank transfer. Opening the account is free, and you can either keep it for 50p per month or you can close it after the transfer. The transfer was £25. It is always better to convert the money first into GBP than send it as Forint and let the bank exchange.0
