  • Hi I have just had a payment from the DWP & the payment code is CSHR Does anyone know what this payment is ?

    Thanks in advance
    Little miss

Did you get to the bottom of this? I got a payment yesterday with the code CSHR - I assumed initially that it was my first payment of New Enterprise Allowance, but now I'm wondering? I also got a random WTC payment at the same time. Much as it's always a delight to see the balance on your bank go up (or the amount owed on the overdraft go down, in my case!), I do wish DWP would match payments to more promptly sent advisory letters, rather than leaving people wondering what's going on.

I got paid an amount into my bank, found out what the error was, it was a bank error and the money wasn't mine, but they said they did not know whose it was and I could keep it.

    So I did.

To the OP, I think you could a) ring them up and ask them what it is or b) just keep it on one side in a high-interest account and don't spend it, at least then you will have some interest off it if they ask for it back.

    I personally would do a.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
  • I'd phone them and ask too.

Edited: I've just noticed the date on the OP. Presumably the OP has found out what it was in the past 3 months or so.

just give them a quick call and put your mind at rest, so you can sleep tonight.
  • I also have seen this just now on my bank statement - I believe it is money given to me for the transport cost. I asked about this at the JC and they gave me a form to fill out. They said they reimburse you the travel costs one-way whenever you visit. So it was only a small amount of £0.75.
