how much is the payment ? If £25 could it be a cold weather payment ? (from the list of benefits you give it's not possible to say for definite if you do or don't qualify for these)

CSH normally refers to cash, and the 'R' could mean refund, although I can't see why the DWP would have it entered this way.
  • Could be Civil Service Human Resources, if it is just a one off payment could be someone selected the wrong option when using CPS to pay.

I had something similar in 2001. We were claiming Income Support including help with the mortgage.

It took quite a while for it to be sorted out. How surprised was I when eventually they paid just over £3000 to the Abbey National. It brought the arrears down by half. We already had a pending repossession notice. Now we had only £3000 or arrears to clear at £100 a month + the normal payments (which were covered by the DWP). Then we had a letter from the bank's solicitor telling us that the Order had been withdrawn as the mortgage account was now in credit???? I spoke to them and they said that another £3000 had been paid in by the DWP!!!

I never could work out where it came from or why, but we just accepted it and kept quiet. No one asked us for the money back. Yes I think that they paid us twice for the arrears of benefit.

One possibility is CSHR = Client Should Have Received.
If you were underpaid in a previous instalment of your benefit, after a recalculation, the gap was made up by this payment.

Because you have not been asked for the money back, yet, does not mean that you won't be asked at some point in the future. It is not unknown for the DWP to reclaim overpayments dating back 10+ years.

Openly admitting possible benefit fraud on a public forum is very noble, but perhaps not the wisest decision you have made. Your anonymity on the internet is paper thin, and one court order can expose your true identity.
