I don't know if it's normal for those just 'coming out' but I've gone a bit on overlead, in fact 'headless chicken' would be more apt!! I don't seem to be able to switch off from figures, how to save money etc. Looking out stuff for Ebay, checking insurance policies to amke sure we aren't paying for the same cover twice etc, etc, etc!!
A couple of questions, Sazzacat said about applying for cards with 0% or life of balance, is it worth it bearing in mind my own personal debt is more than my annual income. I did have a Sky Card on 0% last year which I repaid using the dreaded MBNA card when the offer expired and no I didn't add anything to it, think I've been a closet DFW for a while!! Also if that didn't work and I was rejected and I could persuade OH to apply (when he listens to Martin on the radio or TV talking about moving debt around he breaks out in a cold sweat!) would the fact that I had been rejected affect him. We both have a good credit history (checked mine on the freebie Experian recently and came out as good), the only thing we have applied for recently was to A&L to bump up our existing loan with them to pay back dreaded MBNA) which was declined, even though we had never missed or been late with a payment in almost 4 years, only just over a year to go on that one!! Actually although I was really upset at the time I now think they did me a favour as forced me to own up to OH.

    Thanks for your support.
OH was out from very early this morning 'til quite late this evening, just us two so had a lot of time to reflect, think, worry etc. On positive side when he came home was almost back to normal. Still hasn't asked me the total of our debt, despite everything he still trust's me to deal with it, WOW! what a burden but one I will definitely carry until I've got us out of this mess.
