Meat delivered?

I'm looking for a service that will delivery high quality meat to my home. I don't like the meat in my local supermarket, it just doesn't taste very "meaty" so I want something on a par with butcher meat (my local butcher isn't wheelchair accessible).

Has anyone used a meat delivery service that allows users to customise their order (I don't eat pork) that they can recommend?

I've already asked but they are only willing to deliver the same thing every week where I'd prefer to be able to change what I order so that I'm not eating the same thing all the time.

I've recently been using Clare Barry, https://www.clarebarry.co.uk and I've been quite impressed. It works out a bit more expensive than supermarket meat, but not too much so, and the meat is really good - more "real" and less fatty or stuffed with water. It's worthwhile waiting til you have an empty freezer and doing a big order to get free delivery.

Thats abit stupid as they are losing a vaild customer by simply not wanting to take a 5min phone call on what you want...but are willing to deliver it to your door. Only other thing I can think of is paying someone to do it for you...i.e young person wanting abit of pocket money.

  • Do you get parcel deliveries? The next time you get a parcel delivered by someone who looks like they have their own vehicle, have a word with them. They may be able to fit you into their local round. Good luck.

My local butchers (Portobello) deliver a wide range or stuff and they have award winning haggis.

I've heard good things about Clare Barry. I used Westin Gourmet but I wouldn't recommend them. The meat's of a reasonable quality (the chicken breast fillets anyway, the rest is basic - nothing special) but their customer service is non-existent. I've had two orders from them and they messed up twice, and so I won't use them again.

I had my first delivery from Donald Russell the other week. I only bought mince , the quality of it is first class - never tasted mince so good for years :T
