I'm going to a job interview without a tie

  • Why take the risk with any interview.

fact 1 - A tie will not lose you the job

fact 2 - Not wearing a tie may lose you the job

Therefore why would you go for No.2?

This is why I love working in the media section. I've gone for interviews in nice jeans and a nice top or t-shirt before and have still got the job!

Ties and suits are only necessary for some jobs for interviews.

It's more important what you say at the interview than what you're wearing, people give too much emphasis on clothes, stop worrying about what clothes to wear and concentrate on the content of the interview and potential questions they may ask.

I would go in a tie and ask in the interview the dress code when they ask if you have any questions. I work in IT and have worked in loads of different environments form finance to media and what I wear to a interview and what I wear to work are two different things

    .... Bloody hate ties.

There was another interview a few years ago though that I had (also no tie) and I actually found out later that the interviewer wrote down "no tie" on their notes... How did I find that out? I still got the job anyway.
Probably helped you make yourself memorable - the comment was more to identify you than an adverse comment, I think.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

Dont worry I can spot your ilk within 10 seconds, and you dont get a second chance to redeem yourself.
You are too up yourself for me to want to redeem myself with you. You carry quite an ilk with yourself and you could probably do with managing that rather than managing other people's ilks.
