I'm looking for one night in an Edinburgh hotel at the end of May but the prices are very expensive. We've stayed in 3 of the city centre Travelodges over the last four years and managed to get them for great prices in the fab sales. I don't think they are offering these great prices any more as every time I check they are much higher. They want £63 for most of the city centre ones at the end of May so if I have to pay that I'd much rather try for somewhere else. I'm searching online but there are so many websites to check. I'll need to come back to it tomorrow night. I would appreciate if anyone could recommend any other hotels which are not over the top pricewise. Many thanks. :)

The last few days can be had for £31 a night. The west end one is not far from Haymarket station and has cheap parking. Not exactly central, but an easy walk to the main areas.

Last year there was a sale on 12th April (2012) for rooms between 1st September and end of December. but that is the last full blown 'Sale' e-mail I appear to have had from them - my impression is that they are now doing series of smaller offers rather than the old-type sales. (e.g there was a 'PRICE DROP' last August for rooms from Jan-March)

I think that you are spot-on. The last full blown sale was for rooms up to 30 June. The current mini sale covers the period after that but there are no real cheapies.

My gut-feeling is that the days of the proper sales are over - perhaps the financial re-structuring of TL has something to do with it.

I have booked a week of London TLs for August at £30 to £40 a night. Still good value but obviously not as good as £12 a night as in the past.

Only time will tell - it is possible that the proper sale might be resurrected for the kipper season of Jan and Feb.

For what it is worth, I found a code for £10 off a Travelodge booking:

    http://www.comparevouchercodes.com/discounts/10-off-travelodge-stays-using-discount-code-travelodge-5

To be used by 16 April.

I have not used it so don't know if it works. Often the codes only apply to full price rooms but worth a look at if your going to book a TL.

    Hi
Does anyone know when the next sale starts? I know there has just been one, we have just been invited somewhere and need 3 rooms in London for 3 nights in September. I have looked at the dates & location and all the rooms are £75+ per night.

I want to be on the button just before the kick off of the sale like I have done in the past for central London rooms.

I just hope there will be another sale between now & September?

Can anyone remember the release dates of sales from 2012?

    Thank you

I have managed to book 3 rooms at Covent Garden for Sunday 8th September for £25, which is great and I am pleased.

I actually need to book the night before (Sat) and the night after (Mon).
I'm half thinking of booking the Monday now which is over £70+ for the night. But am wondering if a Monday could be reduced in the next price reduction-seems from what people have said it won't be a big sale.

The Saturday is over £150+ which I think is too expensive for a TL. Although I realise that a Saturday will be dearer than the Sunday.

I could do with the Saturday going down to 1/2 that price, and the Monday night to 1/2 the £70.

Do you think I should wait and see with my fingers crossed?

Now I've got Covent Garden for £25 for 1 night, I don't really want to stay at different hotels. There are 8 of us and I need 3 rooms.

    Help?

Very hard to say really! Saturday night is always very expensive, although £150 is a silly amount even for covent garden!
I would probably wait a bit. I would definitely wait for the monday one to go down..
We have been really lucky getting Covent Garden for a good price.
I really like it there, so centrally located for everything.

Okay-think I will wait, and see. We've stayed as a couple at Covent Garden about 3 times, the first time I got 3 nights for £12 per night!! In the good old days!!

Covent Garden is really central, can walk all over the place, and great for the theatre.

We found a little caf! doing good breakfast around the corner too, don't know if it's still there, it has been about 12 months since we were last in London, and probably that's not so cheap either.

This time round we will be all adults apart from a 4 year old, so the children eat free at TL isn't any good for us really.

    Thank you:beer:
