But he might not. You won't KNOW until you go and ask.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Thank you Honey Bear0 -

He will probably do what mine did and give the following speak
"The cause of the depression is work, giving pills will only mask the problem and not fix it, you need to tackle the root of the problem and speak to your boss"
They assume bosses give a rats, they don't0 -

Dr. should sign you off for work related stres. I said no and got suspended instead lol. Even a couple of weeks on suspension really helped, its a bit of time to reflect and rest that poor head - easy to loose sight of whats important when your overworked.0 -

This is a great piece of advise, I do volunteer work in the local cat & dog home, just a handful of hours a week but it really keeps me sane.Bad luck breeds bad luck.
Damn I'm doomed.0 -
I'll just add my name to the list

But yeah its hard when nothing you do works out, when your at the stage of needing doctors etc who then brush you off like everyone else has, and the hardest thing is there is no end in sight.
All you can do is keep trying, I'm at the stage where every single day without fail I check job listings at lunch time and as soon as I get home, its soul destroying when 9 times out of 10 there is nothing even to apply for, I think I average 1 job a month which has led to nothing which is hardly surprising I guess. What I have started doing to keep my spirits up is send out speculative CV's, the response rate is low, I get about 1 reply in 10 which is usually sorry nothing at the moment, but at least it makes you feel like your doing something, occasionally it works, I've an interview on Tuesday with a firm who inform me they've been thinking of hiring an S.O (whatever that is) for a while but never got around to it, so I am hoping that leads to something. You could also try retraining, I went back to Open University, again it makes you feel like you're doing something towards getting out of that hell hole.
But your certainly not alone with this issue although it probably feels that way, when I started my crappy job I thought I was the only one who disliked working there, I've since got talking to co workers and discovered they all feel the same, they are just good at hiding it.
I think its sad that businesses these days can treat people like this, if you don't like it on you go, you're easily replaceable is the attitude, they really couldn't give a rats about you.
Thanks Falko, I wish you well with your job hunting, and as you say you're being pro-active in trying to get out. I also spend a vast amount of time on the job sites I've signed up to, and live in hope!
Funnily enough I know there are a few others that I've spoken to at work who are also very unhappy. I think the fact there are so few jobs means that companies can get away with more than they before too, as they know it's harder for people to get out.0 -
Such a horrible situation to be in. I know exactly how you feel. I couldn't find work after leaving uni with anxiety and managed to get a job which I absolutely hate. I've been trying so hard to find something else. Every morning before work, every evening after work applying to as much as I can. It's horrible when there is nothing out there or no luck with interviews. Even when you're not at work all you can think about is how much you hate it and it destroys your whole life and relationships because it's making you so unhappy.
I'm just posting to tell you to keep trying, as horrible as it is having to stick with a job you hate so much but something will come up! I know because I've just been lucky enough to get a new job after months and months of looking and trying to get out the horrible place I'm in.
I would advice you only to spend your free time (other than applying for jobs) to get out and about, meet with friends and family to take your mind off it. Would it be possible to think about a different kind of job? Or studying in your free time to give yourself more options?
Keep your chin up, don't give up looking. Good on you for sticking where you are until you find something else. My thoughts are with you I know exactly how you feel. Something WILL come along!0
