Bare with me as I'm new to forum use.
I recently tried to change my ISP to PlusNet via MSE but PlusNet would not recognize my original BT phone line because TalkTalk had taken over the line rental last year,so PlusNet said I would have to pay them £59 connection/installation fee. What I'd like to Know is that correct or is it a con to get more money out of a potential customer?
Many thanks

If you are on Talk Talk LLU for broadband and telephony you no longer have a BT line, this has to be re-provisioned for you.
Not sure whether you keep the same number.
Essentially, BT Openreach have to unplug you from Talk Talks' equipment at the exchange and replug you into BT's kit. AKA A tie pair shift. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
There should be no issue from TT LLU to Plusnet though, as the latter is not an LLU service?
OP, I suggest you try this online instead and see if it accepts your number. Apart from anything else, you'll be pocketing £38 if you sign up for a dual bundle (calls and broadband) via Quidco. Absolutely no need to go through Plusnet CS to do this, as long as you have your MAC.No free lunch, and no free laptop
