  • The Watford one is closing down too, not really of much use to me but others may find it useful...

They are closing 89 stores apparently.

I had a feeling they were in trouble. I bought a sleeping bag last year that was meant to be four-season, down to -20C. I used it in 2 degrees C weather and I was freezing, even in all my clothes. Wrote a complaint about how I was unhappy about its performance and could I exchange. About 2 months later I got a rude, unprofessional reply saying no exchanges and the product was doing what it was designed to do. As a result I haven't shopped at Millets ever again, and I might do a little dance if they go under :rotfl:

I'm sure the people losing their jobs will really appreciate your little dance.
  • Was in the Reading store today and no sign of closing down. Bought a 1/2 price top though in the last of their sales...
  • My 2 local stores have had 70% off for a while now but very little left.

It's certainly terrible that the staff of 89 stores will lose their jobs, but if customers are sold products that don't do the job, and then responses to complaints are like that experienced by Imposter, it isn't surprising if they feel the company's troubles are precisely what it deserves.

Perhaps Millets needed this wake-up call & will improve its product range & customer service. Then we can all do a little dance.

May have been worth contacting the manufacturer if the item was not fit for the purpose? Feedback for them, if nothing else.
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

Thanks - unfortunately it was a Millets own brand product. I admit I didn't think about redundancies, so I might have to withdraw my little dance... I might just do a handjive instead :rotfl:
