google chrome desktop view?

I'm using Google chrome browser on my 10" tablet and because its essentially designed for smaller mobile screens all web pages are very sparce (8 words and 1 huuuuuuge picture)

there is an option to view "desktop version" but I have to choose it for every single web page I open, even revisiting or clicking back button defaults back to mobile view - this must affect some mobile users too who prefer regular desktop view (eg so they can actually buy stuff online)

have Google forgotten that tablets are also using Google OS and apps

I've even tried saving link/URL to desktop view but it still defaults to mobile view

grrrrrrrrrrrrr

turns web browsing into a drudge
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?
